Process Monitoring
SIPLACE BoardGateKeeper is a software component for the connection of external scanners and trans-
portation systems within the production line to further processing control or material monitoring systems
(such as MES). This software component supports both the notification of board transport in the line and
a function to stop further transportation in the event that the MES production monitoring system, for ex-
ample, needs to intervene in the placement process. In detail, this means that the movement of a board
into the placement line can be prevented until all missing or expired material in the placement machines
has been replaced or until the operator has corrected any error states.

The BoardGateKeeper has the following software interfaces:
▪ IEBR interface
This allows the connection of individual transportation and scanner systems to the BoardGateKeep-
er. Customers who wish to integrate their own hardware systems should contact the ASM AS cus-
tomer support team for the necessary information and connection examples. Source code examples
and a tutorial for implementation of an EBR adapter are available from the SIPLACE customer sup-
port.
▪ BoardNotification interface
Integration interface for MES systems. This interface is described in the OIB SDK 3.x, the SDK doc-
umentation also contains a tutorial for simple/step-wise connection.
