: Switch off the placement machine on the main switch.

: Examine the cover for impression of lubrication nozzle.

: Test the old covers with the gauge and note the result of the test in the annexed exel file (pls
send this file to: kleinwolfgang@siemens.com).
The regular value of the nozzle is about 2.75 - 2.80 mm.

: Move gantry to end of rail.

The gantry must not be moved as long as the covers are disassembled. Otherwise the ball deflec-
tor may lift off with the effect of loosing balls. 2

: Unscrew and remove both cover screws.

: Inspect the top and bottom ball deflector for possible breakes or pressure points.

If the deflector is damaged the complete running block must be exchanged asap (extra Service
