7.6.2 SIPLACE Vision views
7.6.2.1 SIPLACE Vision version display
A SIPLACE Vision compatibility version can be chosen from the toolbar when a SIPLACE Vision
view is displayed. Version 431 is the default value.
Each time a change is made in the SIPLACE Vision views, a check is performed to ensure that
the changes are compatible with the SIPLACE Vision version that has been set. This ensures that
the changes can also be applied on machines that use older versions (e.g. X or D machines run-
ning SIPLACE Vision V3.5.1).
7.6.2.2 Importing ball descriptions
If a BGA or a CCGA component shape is opened in a SIPLACE Vision view, ball descriptions can
be loaded from a text file by choosing "SIPLACE Vision Import ball descriptions..." from the
menu. A dialog box allows missing information to be added to these imported descriptions.
7.6.2.3 Editing measurement contexts
A measurement context opened from a file can be edited in the SIPLACE Vision views.
7.6.2.4 Loading and saving Vision data from SIPLACE Pro
When a SIPLACE Vision view is displayed, Vision data can be loaded from a SIPLACE Pro com-
ponent shape by choosing "SIPLACE Pro Load vision data..." from the menu.
In the same way, choosing "SIPLACE Pro Save vision data..." from the menu allows you to
overwrite the Vision data of a SIPLACE Pro component shape.
7.6.2.5 Opening a SIPLACE Vision view without selecting a SIPLACE Pro component shape
It is now possible to open a SIPLACE Vision view directly from the "Live image" view. If no
SIPLACE Pro component shape had been opened previously, a default component shape is pre-
set.
7.6.3 SIPLACE Vision Teach Station view "Measurement contexts"
7.6.3.1 Dragging and dropping and copying and pasting measurement contexts
It is possible to copy, cut and paste and drag and drop Vision measurement contexts (even to and
from the Windows Explorer).
7.6.3.2 Arranging the columns of the measurement context list
You can select the columns to be displayed for the measurement context or test suite views by
choosing "View Select details" (or by using the context menu of the column headers). You can
change the sequence of the columns in the list by dragging and dropping.

7.6.4 Searching for component shapes
To search the SIPLACE Pro database for component shapes that match the current measure-
ment, choose "Object Find component shape..." from the menu.
The search returns a list of all the component shapes that can be used to successfully perform the
current measurement.
7.6.5 SIPLACE Vision Teach Station view "Test suites"
The SIPLACE Vision Teach Station has a new view: "Test suites".
A test suite comprises:
a set of measurement context files,
Vision data, i.e. geometry data of the measurement object and illumination and algorithm
parameters,
a test suite file (*.svts) used to store all the information for a test suite.
7.6.5.1 Test run with a test suite
When a test run is performed with a test suite, measurements are carried out with every
measurement context of the test suite. Only the images and the illumination settings from the mea-
surement context are used for these measurements. All the other Vision data used is taken from
the test suite.
This allows the Vision data from a test suite to be optimized across multiple measurements.

7.6.5.2 Results from a test suite
The results are displayed after every test run.
"Result": Current result ("Successful", "Failed" or "Deviation")
"Previous measurement result": Result of the test suite run using the Vision data prior to the last
change ("Successful", "Failed" or "Deviation").
"Expected result": Here the user can specify the expected result of the measurement ("Success-
ful", "Failed" or "Specified position"). This is intended to assist users in determining the objectives
that they wish to achieve by manipulating the test suite Vision data.
Creating a test suite
A test suite can be created in the "Measurement contexts" and "Test data" views.
A new test suite can be created by clicking "New test suite" in the "Test suites" view.
Editing a test suite
A test suite file can be renamed or deleted when it is selected in the folder hierarchy view.
Measurement contexts of a test suite can be deleted, copied or added.
Editing the Vision data of a test suite
It is possible to select the Vision data of a test suite from a SIPLACE Pro component shape, a
measurement context file or a Vision data XML file.
The "Reset Vision data" button deletes the Vision data from the test suite.
It is not possible to perform a test run if a test suite does not possess any Vision data.
The Vision data of a test suite can be edited by opening a measurement context of the test suite
in the SIPLACE Vision views.

7.6.8 Illumination calibration
The camera illumination calibration is available as of theVTS 5.1.1 version. The description of the
illumination calibration can be found in the following document: "Camera Calibration FCCS digital
/ Kamerakalibrierung FCCS digital", item no.: [00196449-03]. 7
