Mixer Applications

• Series 160

Aluminum retaining nuts are available to hold the Series 141,

160, and 442 mixing nozzles onto adapters, manifolds, and

valves and are used when a metal jacket is not required. To

attach a mixer to a manifold, press t the mixer onto the nose

of the manifold, slip the retaining nut over the mixer and hand

tighten the retaining nut to the manifold.

Mixer Accessory is designed to provide higher speed, increased

control, and an easy and cost-efcient way to apply ribbons when applying two-component

materials. The polyethylene ProTip easily snaps onto 2K’s “A” Series disposable bell housing

mixers including 160A and 162A.

For medium- and high-pressure systems where pressure inside

the mixer is greater than 10 bar (150 psi), we recommend that

a metal jacket be used over the mixing nozzle. Nordson EFD

offers a range of low-cost, one-piece jackets. Select Robotic

version where repeat positioning is required.

All EFD manifolds and valves have our standard 7/8 - 14 thread.

We also offer several jackets in both standard and an alternative

7/8 - 9 thread for your convenience.

We also offer jackets for the 162A Series which have a 1 5/16-12

thread.

Nordson EFD’s two-component manifolds separately port

the resin and hardener into the mixing nozzle. Cleanup simply

involves wiping the manifold face after the nozzle has been

removed.

To prevent back ow or cross contamination of reactive material,

in-line check valves are available.

Luer Lok adapters (locking hubs) are used for attaching Optimum

dispensing tips to Series 190 and 160 mixers. If you want to use

a metal jacket with the 3.16” ID or 1/4” ID bell mixers, order the

mixer and the Luer Lok tting as two separate items unassem-

bled: square hub outlet and #700943 Luer Lok tting (bag of 50).
