Machine Control
Enclosure
The machine control enclosure provides the drive and control voltages for the
servo and stepper motor systems. The enclosure controls the electrical power
required to activate all solenoids, dc motors, clamps and lamps.
Output of machine sensors signalling the status of the machine are routed
through the enclosure. The foreign machine interface (FMI) is fed via the
enclosure under the control of the machine PC enclosure.
Machine PC
Enclosure
The machine PC enclosure is the master controller of the machine. Issuing
sequential control commands to slave systems via the machine controller enclo-
sure, the enclosure analyses the feedback signals and issues further commands
to ensure the correct operation and safety of the machine. Vision information
from the camera is processed by the processor card via the vision card for the
MMI and 2D modules.
MMI Module The man machine interface module (MMI) enables communication and interac-
tion between the user and the machine. This is achieved by the use of the
monitor, keyboard, mouse, tricoloured beacon and the two button control sys-
tem.

Paste Dispense
Module
The function of the paste dispense module option is to apply a precise amount
of solder paste onto the print screen, the frequency is fully programmable in
software.
Board Support
Tooling Module
The role of the board support tooling is to support the board during the print
cycle, to prevent print distortion caused by flexing of the board as a result of the
downward pressure of the squeegees/ProFlow. Several different types of board
support tooling are available to suit a variety of surface mount process require-
ments.
Rising Table
Module
The rising table module fulfills two functions:
• Provide a stable base for the board support tooling
• Positioning of the board support tooling and the rail system modules during
the print cycle
Print Carriage The print carriage module is the vehicle that enables the squeegee module, (and
paste dispense/ProFlow module options) to carry out their functions:
• Squeegee/ProFlow modules - perform the print stroke and paste knead
sequence.
• Paste dispense module - supply paste at the required position of the print
stroke.

Camera and Vision
System Module
The function of the camera and vision system is to supply a visual indication of
screen to board alignment and board and screen inspection data to the vision card
within the machine PC enclosure. The vision card supplies the captured
information to the processor to enable the processor to:
• Utilize the error signal to improve stencil alignment
• Provide visual information for the user on the MMI monitor
When enabled, monitor the printing process to ensure print quality
Screen Change
Module
The screen change module enables manual loading and unloading of the print
screen to the correct position within the chase. With the use of adaptors, the
chase can accommodate the most popular sizes of print screens.
High Throughput
Conveyor Module
The high throughput conveyor module is an optional manual/programmable
width conveyor system. The function of the HTC is to transport up to three
boards through the machine at one time and security of the board on the print
station during the print stroke.
ProFlow Module The ProFlow module is an optional self contained paste transfer unit, employed
to apply solder paste directly to a screen, alleviating the need for squeegees.
