1.2 Safety Instructions
1.2.1 Convention for the use of hazard symbols
These instructions contain notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety
and to avoid to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are
indicated as follows according to the level of risk:
DANGER
or
as used in these instructions means that death, severe injury or considerable damage to
equipment
will occur if the danger warnings are not observed.
or
WARNING
as used in these instructions means that death, severe injury or considerable damage to
equipment
may occur if the danger warnings are not observed.
or
CAUTION
as used in these instructions means that slight injury or damage to equipment may occur if
the caution warnings are not observed.
NOTE
In these instructions, a note provides important information on the product or draws attention
to a specific part of the instructions which should be read particularly carefully

1.2.2 Qualified Personnel
Qualified or adequately trained personnel:
Persons familiar with the erection, operation and maintenance of the placement machine and
supplementary equipment and who possess appropriate qualifications, e.g.:
- The education or training and/or authorization to activate, deactivate, disable, ground or
mark electric circuits and system parts in accordance with the standards of safety
engineering.
- The education or training in the care and use of appropriate safety equipment in
accordance with the standards of safety engineering.
- Training in first aid.
1.2.3 Operational safety
WARNING
The following points MUST be observed in order to maintain operational safety.
- Never open the protective covers of machine if you are not completely familiar with the
procedures and operations of the machine. The protective covers are only to be opened
when
you are instructed to do so in this SIPLACE manual and this manual.
- Never make any changes, however minor, unless you are totally aware of the effect they
will have on the overall functions of the system.
- Use only spare parts listed in section 5 that are provided by Siemens.
- The retrofittings of AVSP options includes installing and uninstalling pneumatic
components. Ensured all safety procedures highlighted are followed before carry out any
modifications or changes (see also Chapter 2.4).
- Uninstall tubing from pin module(s) to control unit only when the main air supply is
switched OFF.
- Do not adjust conveyor width while the pin module(s) is installed on the lifting table.
- Do not activate teaching mode while running of production.
