These retrofit instructions describe the retrofit procedure for the adapter plate of the third tape reel.

 )XQFWLRQDO'HVFULSWLRQRI3HUIRUPDQFH)HDWXUH

The tape containers of the SIPLACE family are designed for a maximum of 2 tapes per location.

The tape feeder module 3x8 mm S, however, processes 3 tapes in one location. This third tape

can be prepared by means of the tape reel holder of the tape feeder module 3x8 mm. It is neces-

sary to retrofit an adapter plate on the changeover table in order to mount the tape reel holder: 

tables. 

%XONFDVHDLUVXSSO\: It will be necessary to reposition the pressure regulator if a bulk-case air

supply facility with a pressure regulator is located on the component table above the tape contai-

ner. You will require a longer controller and cable bracket. 

This retrofit must be carried out by SIEMENS engineers. 

Å Move the changeover table out of the placement machine and carry out the retrofit outside the

machine.

(1) Cross member (5) Socket head cap screw M8x16 (2x)

(2) Socket head cap screw M8x25 (4x) (6) Retaining spring

(3) Carrier plate (2x) (7) Lug on carrier plate

(4) Clamping strip

Å Release socket head cap screws (2) and remove clamping strips (4) from carrier plates (3).

Å Secure carrier plates (3) with 1 socket head cap screw (5) each on cross member (1).
