6.1 Restriction
6.1.1 SIPLACE Pro
▪ The following SIPLACE Pro versions are not supported any longer:
– SIPLACE Pro 3.2
– SIPLACE Pro 4.1
6.1.2 Station Software
▪ The following station software versions are not supported any longer:
– 604.xx
6.1.3 Database Views
▪ The following Setup Center database views are not supported any longer:
– v_PackagingUnitInSetup_Short
– v_PackagingUnitInSetup
– v_PackagingUnitInSetup2
– v_PackagingUnitInSetup3
– v_PackagingUnit
– v_PackagingUnit2
– v_PackagingUnit3
– v_PackagingUnit4
– v_PackagingUnit5
– v_PackagingUnitInUse
– v_PackagingUnitInUse2
– v_TableInventory
– v_VerificationHistory
A part of the existing interface is lost because of the omission of the views named above. Due to
the modified database scheme, however, it is not possible to offer the views any longer.
6.1.4 Windows Vista / 64 Bit Operating Systems
▪ The WLAN modules Scalance W788/W744 cannot be configured on 64 Bit operating systems with
the PST tool.
6.1.5 Splice Points
▪ When using splice sensors don't repair damaged packaging units with splice because repair splice
points cannot be distinguished from the normal splice points.
NOTICE
The data access via OIB interface is recommended.

6.1.6 Traceability
▪ The component level indicator for the machines of the S, F, HS and HF series recognizes identical
packaging unit information and ignores it. The menu field "Unique ID" must therefore always be
transferred into a Traceability data field.
▪ The settings "Identical Component Lot for linear feeders" and "Identical Component Lot for tray
changers" store the scanned "Unique ID" in the data field "Batch". The Traceability data for the con
-
figured "Unique Id" and "Batch" barcodes will therefore both show the "Unique ID".
6.1.7 Set-Up Sheet
▪ Setup Center prints barcodes exclusively of the type Code-39. This type masters the following valid
characters: 0123456789 [space character] ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ-.$/+%. Other
characters are displayed as gap in the barcode and the barcode printout are not readable.
▪ When SIPLACE Pro 5.0 SP1 SP1 is used, the setup lists printed out do not contain graphics of the
components.
6.1.8 Recovery Placement
▪ Due to the restart of the machine, the value for the consumption of already placed components on
the boards that are not finished yet is lost.
6.1.9 X And SX Docking Station
▪ Before starting Setup Center all X docking stations connected via the CAN bus must be online.
Only then it is possible for Setup Center to recognize the type of the docking station correctly.
▪ In order to verify the tracks of a changeover table with 30 tracks, the feeders must first be placed
onto tracks 31 to 60 of a 60 track wide changeover table in the docking station and then be verified.
After that, the feeders must be replaced onto the 30 track wide changeover table.
6.1.10 Mat Label
▪ The barcode parts are invariably described in the Barcode Rules Editor.
6.2 Known Facts / Problems (General)
6.2.1 Update Installation
▪ We recommend that you perform a complete backup of the Setup Center database before updating
to Setup Center 5.1.
▪ We recommend that you reduce the database to a minimum before updating to Setup Center 5.1
(see user manual: database maintenance).
▪ When updating the installation at least 1.7 times the size of the Setup Center database must be avail
-
able as free disk space.
▪ Depending on the size of the database and the hardware used, the database update can take up to
several hours.
▪ During the database upgrade the Setup Center GUI must not be started and no production must be
in progress.

Setup Verification Known Facts / Problems (General)
Version Description / Versionsbeschreibung SIPLACE Setup Center 5.1 51
6.2.2 Setup Verification
▪ It is a requirement that feeders are not pulled out or switched during setup verification. To put it dif
-
ferently, as long as setup verification takes place for a single track, the feeder and the corresponding
packaging units must remain in the same location.
▪ Urgent recommendation: when splicing a reel it must be verified immediately (refill mode). Otherwise
there is a danger of unverified components being placed when the pickup rates are extremely poor
and the threshold values are low. If no Splice sensors are installed the remaining quantity of a tape
running empty should be checked and corrected before splicing.
6.2.3 Partial Setup
Setup verification for partial setups at S feeders behaves differently than at X feeders because S feeders
don't have a feeder ID.
6.2.4 Quantity Management
▪ If the packaging unit is taken from the feeder, the information about the remaining level is lost or un
-
clear. It is no longer possible to monitor the quantities on the reels. If a reel that was in this setup is
then set up again, the user will need to manually correct the component level with the help of the
Component Level Indicator (CLI).
▪ If no packaging unit size is defined as barcode, the number of components as indicated in SIPLACE
Pro is used. Component shape quantity information from SIPLACE Pro will be ignored.
6.2.5 Feeders
▪ Refilling of a tray in a WPC / MTC always causes setting up. That means that the preceding pack
-
aging unit is torn down and the just scanned packaging unit is set up.
6.2.6 SIPLACE Pro
▪ Setup Center references objects in SIPLACE Pro by names and is therefore unable to find them
again, if the names are subsequently changed.
▪ Case-sensitive SIPLACE Pro object names are retained in Setup Center, but case-sensitivity is not
relevant.
▪ In general, Setup Center does not actively react to changes made in SIPLACE Pro. This means that
all actions like renaming, moving, changing objects are not tracked by Setup Center. After changes
have been made in SIPLACE Pro, Setup Center needs to reload the setups. In case of online verifi
-
cation, Setup Center has to be restarted. In case of offline verification it is sufficient to close and re
-
open the setup. Adding, deleting and changing a barcode to a component is recognized. The
renaming of lines in the line configuration is also recognized and the setup is torn down.
▪ Umlaut characters are not shown correctly in the SIPLACE Pro setup names on the Dragon scanner.
Avoid using these characters in SIPLACE Pro setup names.
6.2.7 Length of the Setup Names
▪ The length of setup names is limited to 20-50 characters for machines of the S, F, HS and HF series,
i.e. only the first 20 or 50 characters are looked at when there is a setup change.
Station software Max. length of setup names
