1 Traceability with PCB Camera
1.1 Brief Description
This installation manual provides instructions on installing the PCB Barcode V3.0 on the
SIPLACE
®
placement machines. It contains information on the scope of delivery and requirements
for successful installation.
After installation, the PCB Barcode mode can be used at the station.
1.2 Scope of Delivery
Installation package Traceability with PCB Camera, item no. [00116195-02]. This package
contains:
– Software licenses:
Barcode WdtL, item no. [00116292-xx]
Reading Barcode with PCB Camera, item no. [00116295-xx]
SIPLACE Traceability Machine Connection, item no. [00169578-xx]
– Installation manual Traceability with PCB Camera, item no [00197413-xx]
1.3 Prerequisites
● The following SIPLACE software versions are required:
– SIPLACE Pro as of version 11.2.
– Station software as of version 707.1 (and in compatible mode 706.2).
– Traceability as of version 3.6 SP1.
The installation package cannot be used for previous SIPLACE software versions. For these
versions, the installation package PCB Barcode V2.0 SP4, item no. [00388759-05] with USB
dongle is still required additionally.
● The "Barcode WDtL" software license is required for each station in the line.
Additionally, the first station in the line also requires the "Reading Barcode Recognition with
PCB Camera" software license or, alternatively to this, an installed barcode reader.
● The License Manager must have been installed with the Support Media DVD. The Support
Media DVD is included in the installation packages of your SIPLACE software products.

1.4 Functions
The following functions will be enabled with the licenses in the installation package:

Barcode data can be stored in SIPLACE Pro as
barcode fiducials.
Barcode fiducials can be read on the placement
machine and assigned in SIPLACE Pro.
Traceability Production retrace-
ability
Traceability data is created in order to trace
production data even after long periods.

1.5 Installing the PCB Barcode Function
In PCB Barcode versions <3.0, software licenses and a USB dongle have to be installed on the
computer to use the PCB Barcode function.
As of the PCB Barcode version 3.0, another method may be used alternatively with which no USB
dongle is required. The PCB Barcode function is realized via an internal algorithm and only the
software licenses are required.
The required software licenses are available in the installation package.
► Log in as administrator on the station computer.
► Install the software licenses with the License Manager.
NOTICE
The use of Traceability is not mandatory for the PCB Barcode function und thus it is
optional to install the software license "SIPLACE Traceability Machine Connection".
