2.3 Requirements
NOTICE
CAN nodes
The "verify component reject bin (CAN nodes)" [00116848 xx] retrofitting kit can only be used
for machines with the CAN node option.
Machines up to serial no. B751 with 1-Wire-Hub require the following parts:Machines up to se-

An additional module/1-Wire-Hub CAT5 [03041473-xx] per location, a mounting bracket
[03023039-xx] and two screws DIN M3x6 [00201463-xx].
The machine can not be operated in mixed mode with CAN nodes and 1-Wire-Hub. Check
whether the machine has already been upgraded with the CAN node module.
If an upgrade is needed, make sure you also order the "retrofitting kit CAN nodes for CPP head"
[03079950-xx]. This upgrade can only be performed for a complete machine. See also assem-
bly instruction "CAN nodes for X series SW70x" [00196678-xx]. Conversion to CAN nodes may
only be performed by the SIPLACE Service.
► If a nozzle changer for the C&P20 or DLM6/12 is already being used, this indicates that a
1-Wire-Hub has been fitted. In this case, you do not need an extra 1 wire hub.
CAUTION
Component feed devices with prepared cable for CAN node option
Although some component feed devices already have the cables for the CAN node module
ready, the old version of the cutter control with 1-Wire-Hub is still used. In this case, you either
need to convert to the CAN node module or use the 1-Wire-Hub. Mixed configurations in the
same machine are not possible.

► From machine number B752 the component feed device has been converted fully to the
CAN node option.
► Conversion to CAN nodes may only be performed by the Siemens Service team.
NOTICE
CPP Multistar head with stationary sensors or MTC
If you use the CPP head together with a stationary camera or an MTC, you will also need the
"upgrade sensor cable reject bin" [03079030-xx]..
NOTICE
TwinHead and MTC on a machine with CAN node infrastructure
The CAN node option also requires a cutter.
Machines with the CAN node infrastructure and an MTC at a TwinHead location must use the
"upgrade sensor cable reject bin" [03079030-xx].

3 Installation
3.1 Fitting the Sensors
► Remove the nozzle changer, if required.
► If required, loosen the component feed device and pull this slightly out of the machine.
If the 1-Wire-Hub is to be fitted in a one gantry placement area, you may need to loosen the compo-
nent feed-in device at location 2 and 4 and pull this slightly out of the machine. Please read the latest
service manual for the relevant machine prior to this.
Standard: for C&P6, C&P12, TwinHead, C&P20 and CPP
▪ Cable X series/HF R2 reject bin [03022078-xx]
▪ Sensor S1 is used for the component reject bin verify query
▪ Sensor S2 is used for the nozzle reject bin verify query
Optional: additional sensors for the CPP in pick&place mode with stationary cameras
▪ Reject bin sensors for upgrade [03079030-xx]
▪ Sensor S1 is used for the component reject bin verify query with stationary camera
▪ Sensor S2 is used for the component reject bin verify query with stationary camera at the location
with the MTC
CAUTION
Component feed device - heavy machine component
The COT insert is heavy. You may need to enlist the help of a second person.
CAUTION
Screws
When fitting the sensors S1 and S2, make sure that you do not not use any magnetic (electri-
cally conductive) screws! Only use the plastic screws provided to fasten the sensor (DIN85-
M3x6-PA [00305381-xx])!
