In contrast, SIPLACE Explorer has a status model for the whole machine and determines at any one time
a status which relates to the entire machine. If only one processing area places at any one time, while the
other waits, this will be shown by the substate Zone1Productive_Zone2Starved and
Zone1Starved_Zone2Productive. These substates are shown in the status Productive. In the above
example for the X4 machine, SIPLACE Explorer will show the status Productive during board placement.
If the user wants to see whether a different processing area is waiting, he must switch over to view the
substate.
3. Taking into account stations which are switched off or not accessible via the network:
In OIS, stations which are switched off or not accessible via the network do not lead to a new status.
In SIPLACE Explorer, stations which are switched off or not accessible via the network are assigned
special substates (e.g. "Scheduled downtime – Other“, "Unscheduled downtime – Power down" or
"Nonscheduled time – Power down").
4. Status "Unknown" in SIPLACE Explorer:
If SIPLACE Explorer is unable to reach the OIS database via the network, SIPLACE Explorer will show
the status "Unknown". This status is not recognized by OIS.
5. Times taken into account during a period of observation:
OIS only takes into account those times during the period in which the station sends events.
The SIPLACE Explorer E10 status always considers all time in the set period.
Example: The shift begins at 6 a.m. and it is now 1 p.m. The station sent events during the period 6:30 to
12:30. The total time taken into account by OIS is 6 hours (e.g. 5 h Running, 40 min Starved and 20 min
Blocked). The SIPLACE Explorer E10 automatic status function also defines states for the times in which
the station did not send events (e.g. the status "Unscheduled Downtime – Power Down" from 6:00 to
6:30 and from 12:30 to 13:00 hours). The total time considered by the SIPLACE Explorer E10 status
model is therefore 7 hours.
6. Status "Other" on the SIPLACE Explorer website "Performance":
On the SIPLACE Explorer website "Performance", 5 OIS states are shown. There are also the two states
"Other" and "Unknown", which OIS does not recognize. The status "Other" (shown in brown) contains the
states "Scheduled Downtime" and "Nonscheduled Time" of the E10 state model.

5.8 Existing Restrictions
SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.7 has the following restrictions:
• When using MS Windows 7 with 64 Bit, you must install Adobe Reader 9.x manually otherwise the
online help cannot be opened via the websites. The Support Media DVD provides the Adobe
Reader 9.x in the "\TOOLS\ACROBAT READER" folder.
• When upgrading from SIPLACE Explorer versions 2.2 and older to SIPLACE Explorer 2.7 the
Apache Tomcat web server has to be uninstalled first and afterwards be reinstalled from the
Support Media DVD. In doing so, you make sure that the correct Java version 1.6 is set for the
Apache Tomcat web server.
• For all versions lower than SIPLACE Pro 7.0, OIS 7.0 and station software 703, SIPLACE Explorer
2.7 shows "N/A" instead of the PCB side on the Overview tab of the factory website.
• For all versions lower than SIPLACE Pro 7.0, OIS 7.0 and station software 703, SIPLACE Explorer
2.7 shows "-" instead of the PCB side in the Current Recipe List table on the Production
Summary website.
• Restriction due to NPI mode
SIPLACE Explorer V2.7 is unable to use data from SIS for boards which are marked as "SA"
(stand-alone). This means that the following information is not available for boards marked with
"SA":
• Component name
• Component shape
• Feeder type
• The following pages show limited data due to the "Stand-alone" mode:
• Pickup reliability
• Pickup overview
• Reject volume
• Status transitions
• Factory Layout:
A SIPLACE Explorer host (the computer on which SIPLACE Explorer "Runtime Environment" is
installed) can monitor five production lines with up to 20 stations.

• Single Line Layout
A SIPLACE Explorer host (the computer on which SIPLACE Explorer Runtime Environment is
installed) can monitor one production line with up to 7 stations.
• For performance reasons, we recommend that you do not generate reports for all websites and
report types at once. Try to run the report generation at a time when there is no production
operation e.g. at the weekend.
• From SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.0 SP1, the station GEM interface will no longer be supported
i.e. data can not be recorded via the GEM interface with SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.5 or higher.
If you need support for the GEM interface, please contact the SIPLACE Hotline.
• The system time on the connected machines and that belonging to the SIPLACE Explorer must be
synchronized. SIPLACE machines require the installation of TimeSync, which is included on the
Support Media DVD provided with the delivery.
• The following restriction applies to platform I (S20, S23, F4, F5, F5HM) stations with dual
conveyors:
The page Production Summary will display Unknown in the Current Recipe List table for the
2nd conveyor lane.
Reason:
Platform I stations are unable to produce different recipes, even with dual conveyors. Therefore,
only one recipe will be loaded for the SIPLACE production line. This recipe will then only be
assigned to conveyor lane I by SIPLACE Explorer.
• When using the conveyor type "dual conveyor", the board counting function is subject to
limitations. It only records boards for conveyor lane 1. Boards produced on conveyor lane 2 are not
recorded.
SIPLACE Explorer and OIS only show the boards for conveyor lane 1.
The components placed on the boards on conveyor lane 2 are assigned to the boards recorded for
lane 1. This means that the number of consumed components shown is correct.
This restriction applies to the following software versions: 407, 408, 502, 503, 504, 505.01, 505.02.
The restriction ceases to apply for version 505.03 onwards.
