5 Features of SIPLACE OIS 12.1
If not differently described, the features of previous SIPLACE OIS versions are contained in the
SIPLACE OIS 12.1 version. The main features of SIPLACE OIS 12.1 are listed below.
5.1 Automatic Reorganization of Indexes and Statistics
The OIS and SIS databases have stored procedures that remove old data from the databases
regularly. However, this may lead to fragmented database indexes and distorted statistics.
Thus, indexes and statistics will be reorganized automatically at regular intervals as of this
SIPLACE OIS version.

6 Restrictions
NOTICE
As of the 5.2 version, all OIS versions are compatible in both directions. Thus, older OIS
Client versions may be operated promptly together with newer OIS Server versions (and
vice versa).
● The OIS Server has been released for a decentralized environment in which each OIS Server
administers the data of a single line. In principle, the OIS Server is able to administer multiple
lines but this may cause delayed provision of data.
● The evaluation of the entire SIPLACE line is incorrect if the line is equipped with a productivity
lift. The evaluation of individual SIPLACE machines is not affected by this.
● If the Monitoring Service is not compatible with the SIPLACE Pro server version (e.g. OIS 5.x
with SIPLACE Pro <4.1), it is not possible to import the line configuration from SIPLACE Pro.
The line configuration from SIPLACE Pro cannot be read by the OIS Line Config tool. You
must configure the lines manually (for description, see the online help of the OIS Line Config
tool).
● The OIS Server has been tested with a maximum of 50 placement machines with station
software versions up to 605 and a maximum of 10 placement machines with station software
versions 70x.
● On platform 1 machines the OIS client is not started automatically when the station is booted.
● The "lGantry" column has been added to the OIS PICKUPERROR table. This column contains
the gantry number whereas the "ucHead" column refers to the head number on the gantry. For
stations with one gantry and station software < 701, that are equipped with two heads per
gantry, the assignment does not apply. For these stations the gantry number is always "1" and
the head number is recorded in the "lGantry" column.
● Build time is only supported by:
– Station software versions >= 704
– SIPLACE Pro version >= 8.0
– OIS and Monitoring Service >= 8.0
● The alternative components option requires a license in SIPLACE Pro and is only supported
by:
– Station software versions >= 705
– SIPLACE Pro version >= 9.x
● The reporting functionality has been removed from the OIS Client.
– The OIS Report Viewer substitute tool is available in German only and has limited
formatting possibilities.
– No support for line-based reports.

Monitoring functionality:
● 2.5 OIB Monitoring Clients only receive live data. Historic data cannot be queried.
● Consumption quantities follow the data sent by the stations:
– Pick-up errors on an empty track are considered as consumption
– Disposed components on fiducial error or station error are not contained in the consumption
data
● The Monitoring Service is only available with OIS versions >= 7.1.
● The Monitoring Service is only supported by SIPLACE Pro versions >= 7.0.
● The alternative components option requires a license in SIPLACE Pro and is only supported
by:
– Station software versions >= 705
– SIPLACE Pro version >= 9.x
