5. Remove the drive belt cover plate from the squeegee printhead mechanism
and remove the broken drive belt.
Rear Squeegee
Drive Belt
1. The rear squeegee drive belt (right hand stepper motor) can be replaced
without having to remove the printhead mechanism from the print carriage.
2. Slacken off the three screws securing the right hand motor to the motor
support plate.
3. Fit the new belt in position.
4. Using a cable tie wrap or similar, provide a loop around the top of the body
of the motor enabling the motor to be pulled using a force meter. Ensure
that the force meter is pulled in the direction which the drive belt is fitted,
figure above refers.
5. Pull the force meter until a tension of 3-4kgs is monitored on the meter.
Tighten the three screws whilst the motor is under tension.
Front Squeegee
Drive Belt
1. To replace the front squeegee drive belt (left hand stepper motor), the
printhead mechanism must be removed from the print carriage.

2. Disconnect the following connectors from the print carriage, left hand side
(figure in Step 10 of ProFlow to Squeegees section refers):
• Rear Squeegee Motor
• Front Squeegee Motor
• Home Sensors
• Squeegee Pressure Amplifier
3. Remove the printhead mechanism by unscrewing the four screws securing
the unit to the print carriage.
4. Placing the unit on a secure surface, slacken off the three screws securing
the left hand motor to the support plate.
5. Fit the new belt in position.
6. Using a cable tie wrap or similar, provide a loop around the top of the body
of the motor enabling the motor to be pulled using a force meter. Ensure
that the force meter is pulled in the direction which the drive belt is fitted,
Rear Squeegee Motor Tensioning figure example refers.
7. Pull the force meter until a tension of 3-4kgs is monitored on the meter.
Tighten the three screws whilst the motor is under tension.
8. On completion re-fit the printhead mechanism to the print carriage refit the
drive belt cover plate and re-connect all leads to the print carriage, left hand
side.
9. Refit the squeegees.
Fitting the
Squeegees
It is usual to fit two trailing edge squeegees and use the machine in the Print/
Print mode.
When fitting a single squeegee (trailing edge or diamond section) to the
machine, it must be fitted to the front squeegee mount only.
The following procedure describes a double trailing edge squeegee configura-
tion fit to the machine printhead mounting assembly.
1. From the Start menu select Setup Product - Setup Squeegees.

2. From the Modal Commands panel select Change Squeegees. The mes-
sage ‘Open cover and change squeegees’ is displayed.
3. Raise the front printhead cover/shutter to gain access to the printhead
mounting assembly.
4. Fit the rear squeegee to the rear squeegee mount tightening the thumb-
screws finger tight.
NOTE
The locking thumbscrews on the rear squeegee are positioned wider apart
than those fitted to the front squeegee and the keyway slot is positioned on
the left hand side of the rear squeegee.
5. Fit the front squeegee to the front squeegee mount ensuring the thumb-
screws are tightened finger tight.
NOTE
The locking thumbscrews on the front squeegee are positioned closer
together than those fitted to the rear squeegee and the keyway slot is
positioned on the right hand side of the front squeegee.
6. If fitted remove the stencil.
7. Lower the front printhead cover/shutter.
8. Press the System button.
9. Select Finish.
10. If the initial Squeegee Calibration Readings Setting has been completed
previously on the machine, carry out Squeegee Reference Height calibra-
tion (refer to Calibrations section later in this chapter).
