1 Introduction
This document describes SIPLACE Explorer 3.11.
This manual is written for persons assembling, installing and operating SIPLACE Explorer.
You will find the following information in this manual:

1.1 What is SIPLACE Explorer?
SIPLACE Explorer facilitates quick and easy transfer of your realtime data and historical data into the
world wide web and much more. SIPLACE Explorer is a state-of-the-art, component-based software
product for accessing production automation data in the semiconductor, printed board and SMD industry.
With its OIS and SIS support, SIPLACE Explorer is able to easily take realtime data and historical data
from a production line and make it available via a database and directly on the internet.
SIPLACE Explorer is an integrated, visual environment which supports the complete life cycle of fast
loading realtime and web-based information systems.
SIPLACE Explorer offers many features to simplify your work with production line data.

There are several installation options for SIPLACE Explorer:
● Runtime Environment
● Factory Configuration Utility
● Development Environment
NOTICE
Development Environment
The Development Environment is not needed for normal operation of SIPLACE Explorer.
This is an expert tool, required for adaptation of websites etc.
1.1.1 Runtime Environment
Runtime Environment is specially tailored to the execution requirements of line monitoring applications for
production lines in the production environment. Several Development Environment tools are also required
in the production environment and these are supported by Runtime Environment. Runtime Environment
runs as a Windows service and is automatically started when you boot your computer. You can configure
and execute SIPLACE Explorer applications in Runtime Environment.
Runtime Environment facilitates the execution of multiple line monitoring applications and therefore allows
several production lines to be monitored at the same time. The start and stop times for monitoring
individual production lines can be independently configured.
1.1.2 Factory Configuration Utility
If you want to work with Factory Reporting, you will also need to install the option "Factory Configuration
Utility". The following functions will then be available:
● Overview of all production lines during production
● The factor website is the so-called "single entry point" for all line websites i.e. you can click your way
through to all other line websites from the factory website.
● Factory reporting
● Central organization of User Management

1.1.3 Development Environment
NOTICE
Development Environment
The Development Environment is not needed for normal operation of SIPLACE Explorer.
This is an expert tool, required for adaptation of websites etc.
Development Environment is an independent application which supports all tools and utilities from
SIPLACE Explorer.
This application can be used as follows:
● Development of SIPLACE Explorer applications
● Configuration of line monitoring applications from the installed SIPLACE Explorer applications
● Creation of templates for SIPLACE Explorer applications
● Execution of the created line monitoring applications
Please note that the online monitoring of board production should be performed with Runtime
Environment.
Basic developer skills are required for working with Development Environment.
