1 General
Description of functions
This service guide is a manual or reference work for SIPLACE Experts performing the repair of a star
used in DLM heads in SIPLACE Service Centers.
▪ Therefore the defective DLM star is to be sent to the local SIPLACE Service Center where the SI-
PLACE experts will repair the Star.
▪ The service Center is equipped with specialist tooling which allows a comprehensive testing and
analyzing of the Star condition.
▪ A quotation will be submitted before the repair and upon the confirmation the Star will be repaired.
The following will be performed:
▪ Segment sleeve linearity
▪ Segment Z bearing wear
▪ Worn or damaged parts
Tasks:
▪ Visual inspection
▪ Remove all Segments
▪ Check vacuum elbow and replace as necessary.
▪ Verify alignments on sledge.
▪ Verify Segment Alignment (using tool)
▪ Exchange the segment brake and upgrade the radial spring to bearings where
▪ applicable
▪ Replacement of defective parts (vacuum hoses, Valves, Distributer)
▪ Rebuild all 12 segments
▪ Verify the segments with the segment-segment offset tools
▪ Standard preventive maintenance (cleaning etc)
▪ Once the initial check are completed you will receive a quotation for the repair
