1 General
This document describes the retrofit workflow for software version 404.xx at SIPLACE machines.
Only SIEMENS (PL EA 1) or SIEMENS-NIXDORF service engineers are permitted to perform the ac-
tivities described in the following.
NOTE
When carrying out the activities described below, be sure to adhere to the safety notes as well as the ESD
directives.
WARNING ! !
Prior to withdrawing or connecting any electrical modules be sure that the PC is switched off and dis-
connected from the power supply.
2 Safety Notes
DANGER
The automatic machines of the SIPLACE family are supplied with 3 x 400 V
10 %, 50/60 Hz mains
voltage. Therefore, parts of the system will carry "live" voltage even with the main switch turned off. Im-
proper handling of these machines can therefore result in death or serious personal injury as well as con-
siderable damage to the equipment.
Be sure to adhere to the applicable Accident Prevention and VDE-Regulations (EN 60204 in particular).
Only adequately trained Siemens service engineers are permitted to perform these retrofitting activities.
Prior to attempting to perform any retrofit work, turn off the main switch and disconnect the power plug.
Take all required lock-out measures to prevent the machine from being restarted. Failure to do so may lead
to death or serious bodily injury when you come in contact with voltage-carrying parts.
