Pass-through transport option for
SIPLACE HF-series / X-series / D3
2.1 Note about the option
2
The Pass-through transport option is only intended to be activated in an emergency.
Its only purpose is to ensure that the placement machine's PCB convey
or can still be used even
though the station software is no longer running. This will allow the placement machine to be used
as a conveyor belt. 2
This function MUST be deactivated when carrying out repairs on the placement machine. To de-
activate the function, switch the placement machine off at th
e main power switch, otherwise the
axes might start up unexpectedly. The safety circuit is fully active while this option is switched on,
however. 2
Before you activate the option, push all the ga
ntries manually out of the conveyor area, making
sure that the Z-axes are in the top position and cannot be damaged. 2
2.1.1 Functional Description
After the main switch has been switched on, none of the three LEDs on the PCC (protective con-
tactor combination) lights. 2
If the button on the emergency conveyor is pressed, the first LED on the PCC lights (software re-
lease). The relais with the self-holding contact(24V) switch
es and is permanently held by means
of a self-holding contact. 2
The voltage for the conveyor belts, the tape cutter and the interm
ediate circuit voltage of the axis
systems is not present. The voltages are not switched until the safety circuit is closed and the start
button has been pressed (L2 and L3 of PCC light). If the safety circuit is interrupted, e. g. by an
emergency-off button or by opening a cover, the voltage of the PCC drops. As a result, the voltage
for the conveyor belts, the tape cutter and the intermediate ciruit voltage drops as well. 2
Testing the function: 2
If the safety circuit is closed and the start button is pressed, the PCB in the output conveyor of the
preceding
station is requested by the test machine, transported through the machine and passed
on to the subsequent station. 2

2.3 Safety instructions
WARNING
The safety instructions from the “Operational safety” cha
pter of the user manual and servicing in-
structions take precedence over these instructions. 2
The SIPLACE placement machines are supplied with main power voltage.
Consequently parts of these systems carry dangerous voltages! Th
is voltage is present at certain
modules inside the machine base, even when the machine is switched off at the main power
switch.
Incorrect handling of the placement machine or touching live parts of the machine can result in
death or se
vere injury, and considerable damage to equipment.
BEFORE starting any work, shut down the operating system correctly,
then switch the machine
OFF at the main power switch and disconnect from the main power supply. In addition, the com-
pressed air supply must be switched off at the compressed air unit's main valve in the machine
base and
vented by actuating the needle valve on the compressed air unit.
There is DANGER for heart pacemaker wearers in the vicinity of the linea
r motors, as described
in detail in the "Special safety instructions for working in the vicinity of strong magnetic fields"
section of the user manual and service manual.
Always follow the accident prevention regulations, DIN or other sta
ndards and special safety
rules applicable in your country.
Pay attention to the information concerning residual voltages in
the Operational Safety chapter.
Follow the ESD regulations as described in the operationa
l safety section of the operating
instructions.
During the retrofit, always secure the machine to prevent access by other people and to prevent
it being switched on ag
ain. The procedure is described in the “Locking the machine…” section of
the user manual.
Working with the SITEST program further increases the risk of accident.
The SITEST program must only be used by authorized an
d trained personnel.
