7.5 PCB barcode scanner
7.5.1 Description
The PCB barcode reader is used to automatically record and decode barcodes on boards. The
PCB barcode scanners are installed on a special frame on the input side of the placement ma-
chine on the PCB conveyor. Depending on the position of the barcode strips, the barcode scanner
can be attached in a few simple steps so that the strips can be read parallel to or across the PCB
conveyor direction.
When using dual lane conveyors, four board barcode readers can be retrofitted. These can scan
both the top or bottom of the boards on both conveyor lanes.
There are two variants of the barcode scanner:
– 2D board code reader
This code reader processes barcodes and matrix codes. Matrix code is primarily used when
there is
not enough space for barcode labels. 7

Item no. 00519972.xx Input conveyor extension for dual lane conveyor
Item no. 00519973.xx Output conveyor extension for single lane conveyor
Item no. 00519974.xx Output conveyor extension for dual lane conveyor
7.6.1 Description
The input/output conveyor extensions can be fitted as board buffers between two machines. This
involves fitting an output conveyor extension to the output conveyor of the first placement machine
in the line and an input conveyor extension to the input conveyor of the following placement ma-
chine. This intermediate space serves as a buffer to prevent any waiting time during board con-
veyor. The input/output conveyor extensions can also be fitted to the beginning and end of a line.

CAUTION
Improved ease of operation of SIPLACE CA4 V2 and reachability of EMERGENCY
STOP button
Make sure you fit an input conveyor extension or an output conveyor extension, if
you are placing a SIPLACE CA4 V2 with a SIPLACE X-Series in the same line.

Item no. 00166670-xx SIPLACE JTF-S
Item no. 00166671-xx SIPLACE JTF-M
7.7.1 Description
The SIPLACE JTF-S/JTF-M is an automatic and fast changer for standard JEDEC waffle pack
trays. On SIPLACE CA4 V2 machines, a JTF-S/JTF-M tray feeder can be installed on a fixed table
instead of a component trolley. The SIPLACE JTF-S/JTF-M occupies a fixed area of tracks on the
fixed table. Linear feeders, Glue Feeders or LDU-X can be used on the free tracks.
The SIPLACE JTF-S/JTF-M is available in two versions
– SIPLACE JTF-S
The SIPLACE JTF-S stores a stack of up to 30 thin or 20 thick JEDEC waffle pack trays and
supplies them in succession. The placement machine can be supplied with one component
type at constant changeover time. 7
– SIPLACE JTF-M
Depending on the magazine type, the SIPLACE JTF-M stores up to 18 thin or 14 thick JEDEC
waffle pack trays in an exchangeable cassette and supplies them as required. The placement
machine can therefore be supplied with different component types at variable changeover
times. 7
