(*4) Checksum (CSM): 2 bytes
Fig. 2
• The checksum calculation method can be specified on your side.
Ref.: The ASCII codes in the command and data sections are
added. When the total of each 8 bits becomes "0" (zero), the
checksum is regarded as "OK".
The character position of the checksum is fixed.

2.1.5 Example of Data Output
Component Shortage Error at 120th Feeder Slot (ID: R2125-001).
(19990302101121)
When the feeder alternate mode is specified as “116Æ118Æ120”, the
data is transmitted as follows.
The data for the 116th and 118th feeder slots is reported as
follows after the data at the 120th feeder slot is transmitted.
Error/Status: 0x31 No Component/Time Stamp: ------- (Fixed)

2.1.6 Component Shortage Determination on Data Output Data
(1) Determination of Component Shortage
Reference: "Error (A)" in Table 2
The objective is the status data [0x31/0x33/0x35] that was transmit-
ted as an error.
0x31 COMP. MISSING (SENSOR)/0x33: COMP. MISSING
(RECOG.)/0x35: SHORTAGE OF COMP.
(2) The component was picked up but can not be placed.
Reference: "Error (B)" in Table 2
The objective is the status data [0x32/0x33/0x34/0x38] that was
transmitted as an error.
0x32: COMP. VERTICAL (SENSOR)/0x33: COMP. MISSING
(RECOG.)/0x34: COMP. RECOG. ERROR/0x38: COMP. THICK-
NESS (SENSOR)
(3) Contents of Alarm Data
Reference: "Alarm" in Table 2
The alarm data is always transmitted before the error message based
on this alarm data is issued later. Therefore, the contents of the
alarm data may be almost the same as the error message.
When the alarm data is not necessary, discard it on the external
host computer side.
• Alternate (Feeder) Data : This is transmitted as alarm data.
• Recovery/Component Shortage Alarm Data : Not Transmitted
The contents described in the above (1) and (3) may have noth-
ing to do with any component shortage when the tape feeders,
the components to be supplied, or the main machine is not work-
ing normally.
