4.3 Automatic BIOS settings on the MC computer
To make the BIOS settings on the MC computer, a suitable setup CD must be created for the machine
controller (see
Table 4-2 and section 4.3.1). To do this, you require a computer running Windows XP that
is fitted with a DVD and CD-RW drive.
The files necessary to create the CD (see
Table 4-2) are in the "BIOS-Images" folder of the DVD for
version 603.01 of the software.

4.3.1 Creating a setup CD for making the BIOS settings on the MC computer
→ Insert an empty CD-R in the CD-RW drive.
→ Insert the DVD for version 603.01 of the software in the DVD drive.
→ In the Windows Explorer, open the "BIOS-Images" folder on the DVD.
→ Open the image file for the relevant computer type (see
Table 4-2) using the installed CD writing
program and follow the instructions on screen.
→ Once the CD has been written, remove the CD and DVD from the drives.

4.4 Preparations for installing the software
4.4.1 Requirements
Before the SIPLACE software and the optional Vision computer software can be installed the Windows
XP Professional operating system
including Service Pack 2 must have been installed successfully on
the station computer and the Vision computer (if present) (see section
3.1). The Windows XP Embedded
operating system must be installed on the machine controller computer (see Installation Manual "Windows
XP Embedded Operating System for the Machine Controller", item no. 00195327-01).
Caution:
It is imperative that the installation DVD for the relevant computer type as given in the Installation
Manual for the Windows XP Embedded operating system (item no. 00195327-01) is used to
install the operating system on a machine controller computer. The machine will not boot if this is
not done.
The default Windows display settings must be changed and the touchscreen must be calibrated. You
must be
logged on as the Administrator in order to be able to carry out this work.
4.4.2 Changing the display settings
→ Choose Start Æ Settings Æ Control Panel Æ Display.
→ Click the Settings tab.
→ Set the "Screen resolution" slider to "1024 by 768 pixels".

→ Confirm the settings by clicking OK.

4.4.3 Calibrating the touchscreen for the X-Series
Choose Start Æ Settings Æ TouchWare, to start the TouchWare Properties program.
