4 Prerequisites
NOTICE
System requirements
The Support Media DVD included in the installation package checks the necessary
system requirements of your system and installs these. Amongst others e.g. Microsoft
.NET Framework, the License Manager and the Error Reporting tool.
The use of the Support Media V1.14 is obligatory.
The system requirements (supported operating systems and database variants) and an
overview of the interoperable products can be found in the SIPLACE Support Media
Installation Manual, item no. [00197214-xx].
4.1 OIS/SIS functionality
● The hard disk must have at least 200 MB of free memory.
4.2 OIS Client
● The hard disk must have at least 20 MB of free memory.
● When the system is used on a SIPLACE machine, the station computer must have at least
128 MB of main memory.
● Monitoring Service must be installed.
● You must know the TCP/IP address or the UNC name (e.g. \\server-name) of the Monitoring
Service.
● A compatible version of the station software must be installed (see chapter 3, Interfaces for OIS
client).
● A network connection to the Monitoring Service is available.
4.3 Monitoring functionality
● The hard disk must have at least 200 MB of free memory.

5 New functions
No new functions have been added.
All features of the OIS version <= 10 are supported by the OIS 10.1 version.

6 Restrictions
● The evaluation of the entire SIPLACE line is incorrect if the line is equipped with a productivity
lift. The evaluation of individual SIPLACE machines is not affected by this.
● If the Monitoring Service is not compatible with the SIPLACE Pro server version (e.g. OIS 5.x
with SIPLACE Pro <4.1), it is not possible to import the line configuration from SIPLACE Pro.
The line configuration from SIPLACE Pro cannot be read by the OIS Line Config tool. You
must configure the lines manually (for description, see the online help of the OIS Line Config
tool).
● OIS Server has been tested with a maximum of 50 placement machines with station software
versions up to 605 and a maximum of 10 placement machines with station software versions
70x.
● On platform 1 machines the OIS client is not started automatically when the station is booted.
● The "lGantry" column has been added to the OIS PICKUPERROR table. This column contains
the gantry number whereas the "ucHead" column refers to the head number on the gantry. For
stations with one gantry and station software < 701, that are equipped with two heads per
gantry, the assignment does not apply. For these stations the gantry number is always "1" and
the head number is recorded in the "lGantry" column.
● Build time is only supported by:
– Station software versions >= 704
– SIPLACE Pro version >= 8.0
– OIS and Monitoring Service >= 8.0
● The alternative components option requires a license in SIPLACE Pro and is only supported
by:
– Station software versions >= 705
– SIPLACE Pro version >= 9.x
● The reporting functionality has been removed from the OIS Client.
– The OIS Report Viewer substitute tool is available in German only and has limited
formatting possibilities.
– No support for line-based reports.
