3 Upgrade to the 605.xx software version

This chapter describes which steps you have to attend when upgrading from different software versions.

When upgrading the station software, always check the eSW versions and download the current versions if

necessary.

Note:

If the data base for the axes has changed after an upgrade or an installation, and one or

more gantry axes (X,Y) are displaced by exactly 50mm, the reference point on the axis/axes

scale has been displaced by one position and the zero point correction is not correct for

these axes anymore. In this case the following steps are required:

- Recalibrate the machine zero point.

- Redetermine the traversing range.

3.1 Upgrade from version 604.x

For upgrade from version 604.x no further steps are necessary.

3.2 Upgrade from version 603.x

When upgrading to the 605.xx software version, please consider following:

For upgrading to the 605.x software version, please consider the installation manual "Windows

Embedded XP operating system for the MC German and English" (00195327-xx). Therefore,

the standard media package (03054699-xx) is required.

- Fix the temperature warning labels (03031926-01) at the C&P20 head (see the figure).

After an upgrade to the 605.xx software version, calibrate the heads of the D1, D2 and D4 machines.

The temperature compensation is activated for these machines.

3.3 Upgrade from version 601.x or 602.x

When upgrading to the 605.xx software version, please consider following:

For upgrading to the 605.x software version, please consider the installation manual "Windows

Embedded XP operating system for the MC German and English" (00195327-xx).

Therefore, the standard media package (03054699-xx) is required.

- For SIPLACE X4, X2 and X3 machines with CPU 076 the following upgrade packages for the machine

controller are required:

- Upgrade package for SIPLACE X4 with CPU 076 (Item number: 03029123S03) for computer

upgrade to CPU 086

- Upgrade package for SIPLACE X2 and X3 with CPU 076 (Item number: 03051831) for 128 MB

memory expansion

- Fix the temperature warning labels (03031926-01) at the C&P20 head (see the figure).

- After an upgrade to the 605.xx software version, calibrate the heads of the D1, D2 and D4 machines.

The temperature compensation is activated for these machines.

4 Requirements

4.1 SIPLACE X series and D series software components

4.1.1 Station

The station uses the following operating system configuration:

• Station computer: Microsoft Windows XP Professional

(including Service Pack 2 and most recent hotfixes)

• Machine controller: Microsoft Windows embedded XP (SP2)

4.1.2 Machine components

The following versions of other machine components are required for the station software to function

correctly:

Station computer SIPLACE Vision Machine controller SIPLACE Pro

Version 605.02 Version 351 Version 605.02 Version 5.2

Caution:

The functional statuses of the station computer, vision, machine controller and SIPLACE Pro

software must be compatible.
