CAUTION!
Make sure that no dirt or grease gets into the vacuum
channels.
► Wipe the star using a lint-free cloth.
► Moisten a lint-free cloth with ISOFLEX TOPAS NCA
52. Use this to grease the running surface (1) of the
star brake, so that a thin film of grease is present.
Remove any excess grease visible with a lint-free
cloth.
CAUTION!
Take care not to damage the sleeve retaining springs in
the segments.
Do not push the cleaning stick into the segment as far as
the retaining spring, otherwise the retaining springs may
be pulled out.
► (1) Carefully clean the segments using a cleaning
stick moistened with ethanol.
► (2) Remove any visible dirt around the segments.
► Carefully remove the distributor together with the two
O-rings. For removal and installation details, read the
Service manual.

2. O-ring for distributor 8*1 NBR 70 B [00201179-xx]
► Carefully remove the two O-rings.
► Clean the O-rings and then grease these slightly with
UNISILKON L250L.
► Check the distributor for damage. If it is damaged re
-
place it with a new one.
► Wipe the distributor using a lint-free cloth moistened
with ethanol.
NOTICE!
The front part of the distributor (the side without the ball
catch) may also be softened in ethanol.
► Blow through the distributor with compressed air.
► (1) Check the ball catch for ease of movement. Re
-
place the entire distributor piece if it does not move
easily.
► Place the clean distributor and the lightly greased O-
rings on a clean surface.
► Clean the distributor seat using a cleaning stick mois
-
tened with ethanol.
CAUTION!
Make sure you do not push dirt into the vacuum opening
with the cleaning sticks.

► Check the star brake for damage and to ensure that
it is working correctly.
► Wipe the star brake with a dry lint-free cloth. Make
sure you remove all grease residues.
► Fill each of the three small holes in the star brake with
ISOFLEX TOPAS NCA 52.
► Remove excess grease with a lint-free cloth.
► Apply a thin film of grease to the surface of the star
brake.
NOTICE
DX series
In the DX series, the DLM4 head has only one valve drive in the placement and pick-up position.
➢ You will need to dismantle the front section of the
head for this maintenance work.
► Clean the valve adjusting drive and wipe the space
between the disk (1) and the motor mount dry with a
lint-free cloth.
► Wipe the ball bearings (2) dry with a lint-free cloth.
► Check that the ball bearing is working correctly. In
case of problems, the valve drive has to be replaced
by authorized personnel. For removal and installation
details, read the Service manual.
► Remove any visible dirt.
► Repeat these steps for all valve adjustment drives.
