Objectives OP 10 - Perform routine housekeeping

Technical Reference Manual

It is extremely important that the DEK printer is kept clean and that any signs of wear and

tear are reported to the maintenance Technician. The Operator has an important role to

play in maintaining the printer in the best possible condition.

Preparation

 Your instructor will demonstrate either your companies housekeeping procedure or

the ASM recommended daily maintenance procedure

Demonstration

 Perform either your companies housekeeping procedure or the DEK recommended

daily maintenance procedure

 Record below the areas to be inspected and cleaned

Reference: Operator best working practices manual

At the end of a production run the process hardware should be cleaned, inspected and

stored carefully. Any signs of damage should be reported as appropriate.

Preparation

 Review the process hardware sections of the BWP manual

Demonstration

 Remove and clean each item of process hardware

 Inspect process hardware for damage

 Store the process hardware in an appropriate manner

Introduction

A regular review of the operation will help identify any problems and ensure that products

are set up following the correct guidelines and using best working practices.

Preparation

With guidance from your instructor familiarise yourself with the content of the operation

checklist on the next page.

Demonstration

Given a Dek printer with a product already set up follow the checklist and identify any

aspects of the operation which are not satisfactory.
