1 Preparation

1.1 Source media for installing/upgrading the application software

Application installation/upgrade software is provided in a CD.

As some of the machines are not equipped with the CD drive, source media used for

installing/upgrading the application software vary depending on the model.

Model CD drive Source media

Note 1

As for application V3.41 STD R1.000 or later, please use a USB flash drive. System

software version log files are saved in the USB flash drive.

Note 2

Please be sure to use the USB flash drive that comes with the machine or a designated one

you can purchase from YAMAHA. Other USB flash drives may cause error conditions of the

machine.

1.2 Save “system data backup”

Before installation/upgrading process, make a backup copy of the system data just in case.

Click the [System Backup] button on the [Setup] window to display the “System Backup”

window. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the machine and click the [Backup]

button and then the [Yes] button to start copying.

Note

1.3 System software updating function

From application V3.41 STD R1.000, at the end of application upgrading process, current

system software version is automatically checked to see if the system software needs

updating. If it is determined that the system software needs updating, the below message

appears.

In this case, update the system software after the application upgrading is complete. The

system software updating file “SystemUpdatePatch.exe” is stored in the application

installation/upgrade CD, under the SystemPatch folder. The CD’s installation/upgrade image

is to be copied to a USB flash drive for use.

2 Copy contents of installation/upgrade CD to the USB flash drive

Note

If you install/upgrade the application for YG300 model, skip the procedure in this section.

If you install/upgrade the application for CD drive-less machine, contents of the

installation/upgrade CD (hereinafter called “install/upgrade image”) need to be copied onto the

USB flash drive.

Caution

To install/upgrade the application, “VGOS_APPLICATION” folder created in the USB flash drive

is used. Copying the install/upgrade image from the CD to a USB flash drive will overwrite the

existing install/upgrade image in the folder. To preserve the existing image, rename the folder or

move it to other location.

2.1 Required items

· VGOSV3.0 application installation/upgrade CD

· USB flash drive (part No. KGY-M4268-00 or KLF-M4268-10)

· The PC equipped with the CD drive and USB port (for copying the install/upgrade image

from the CD to the USB flash drive)

Note

Use the USB flash drive that comes with the machine. Confirm that your USB flash drive

has 400MB or more of free space. If 256MB or below, please purchase a latest USB flash

drive designated by YAMAHA.
