1. Introduction
This document shows necessary works and notes to use the 311A/311F nozzle (the new
nozzle) and the current 311A/311F nozzle (the old nozzle) to exist together as same. The new
nozzle has changed nozzle shape to attempt improvement
2. Summary
The nozzle shape has been changed in the 311 nozzle which belongs to the high-density
mount nozzle set (31x nozzle group) to maintain the pickup rate not depending on the variation of
the career tape that supplies chip parts. There is no difference in nozzle length, buffing
mechanism, and so on, but the nozzle tip shape had been changed as following (Fig 2.1).

By the change of the nozzle diameter and the tip shape, it is necessary to do the work of
setting so that the following functions may operate normally.
Nozzle Interference Check on Y.FacT P-Tool
Measure Nozzles by Side View Camera on Machine
It becomes possible to make the above-mentioned functions normally by doing the work
shown in this document, even in the state that the old and new nozzle exists together in the same
machine.
The nozzle interference check functions normally by updating the information of mount nozzle
specification to the information of the new nozzle. It becomes possible to recognize the both
nozzles as 311 nozzles by side view camera with both the old nozzle and the new nozzle
information in side view camera spec.

3. Setup Steps in Machine
Setup steps in machines to make the compatibility of 311A/311F nozzle are as following.
Please do the work in all the object machines to need corresponding.
1. Software Version Up
(Update the information of Mount Nozzle Specification and Side View Camera Spec)
2. Confirmation of Settings
3. System Backup
3.1. Software Version Up
The function to make the compatibility of 311A/311F nozzle is supported from the following
software versions, so please do software version up when the software that is older than the
following versions is installed. The machines which are enable to use the 31x nozzle group is
shown in Table3.1 .
When the following version has been already installed, it is unnecessary to do the work
mentioned on this document.

When the following screen is displayed in the version up process, please continue the work
with the check mark on “Nozzle Spec Info.”.
As a result, the necessary following informations are reflected in the machine setting to
make the compatibility of 311A/311F nozzle.
[Setting] – [Specification Information] – [Mount Nozzle Specification]
[Setting] – [Specification Information] – [Side View Camera Spec]
* The information set for the special nozzle is not lost, because the information of
Type-31A to Type-31Z for the special nozzle is not overwritten,
* When the information of Type-311 to Type-319 for the standard nozzle have beenn
changed from the initial settings, please make a note of the changed settings, and after
version up is completed, edit it by the machine setting.
