Navigating in Setup
Key Action
CURSOR-DOWN, CURSOR-UP Select next / preceding Setup page
RETURN Display selected Setup page (if "OPEN" is active), or terminate Setup
(if "Cancel" is active)
ESC Terminate Setup
TAB, SHIFT-TAB Activate next / preceding button
F1 Call up context-sensitive help; a help window relating to the
currently selected entry is displayed
F4 Switchover between color and black-and-white display of the BIOS
setup.
The current setting will be saved if Setup is terminated with "SAVE",
and will be retained when the system is restarted.
Terminating Setup
From the main menu, the exit menu can be reached by pressing <ESC>:

Clicking on "SAVE" causes the parameters set to be saved.
Click on "EXIT" to exit the setup program. The old parameters will be retained.
Click on "RETURN" to return to the Setup main menu.

Primary IDE Controller
For the first IDE channel, the following parameters have to be defined.
Auto If this option is activated, BIOS will attempt - upon start-up - to detect the
parameters of the hard disk and to set them up optimally.
Be sure to never execute this option, as otherwise the values for
Cyl/Heads/SPT have to be re-entered.
Type The hard disk type is always USR1
Cyl
Number of cylinders of the hard disk (always 4096)
Heads
Number of heads of the hard disk (always 16)
SPT
Number of sectors per track (always 63)
Precomp Write Precompensation
L-Zone
Landing zone (always 4199)
Size The size of the hard disk in MB will be calculated automatically by the BIOS
based on the parameters and cannot be set.
Trans Mode Transfer mode of hard disk
Normal
For hard disks larger than 504 MB, Normal Mode has to be used under
RMOS.
Important:
None of the options Block Mode, 32 bit or Fast PIO must be activated !
