1 Introduction
Introduction
This manual describes the configuration of the OIB adapters (SIPLACE.Pro.SPI and SIPLACE.Pro.Li
-
neControl) for the different EDM scenarios for the SIPLACE Material Setup Assistant (MSA) and the
ASM Material Manager (SIMM).
Here, you find all important information on the relevant configuration of the OIB adapters in the factory
layout of the Factory Explorer.
The contents of this manual address the following user groups:
Operator
The operator has completed appropriate training and is authorized to carry out tasks on the machine
and line, such as the configuration and refilling of components, setup verification and production
preparation in the pre-setup area.
The line engineer
The line engineer has completed special training and is authorized to carry out tasks, such as the
creation of setup configurations and definition of inspection parameters etc.
The service engineer
Persons of this class have been trained to carry out servicing work, to set up machines and to change
the setup of machines.
CAUTION
Trained and qualified personnel
Only people with the appropriate training for the specific software part may carry out tasks on
the machine. All tasks must be carried out by trained and qualified personnel. All warning, cau

EDM Scenarios and OIB Configuration
Depending on the EDM scenario, the OIB adapters SIPLACE.Pro.SPI and SIPLACE.Pro.LineControl
must be assigned to the relevant objects in the factory layout.
Go to the ASM Studio and start the Factory Explorer module.
⇨ The Factory Explorer will open.
Select Central Settings.
In the Factory Layout of the Factory Explorer, configure the OIB adapters SIPLACE.Pro.SPI and
SIPLACE.Pro.LineControl depending on the EDM scenario.
Four different EDM scenarios exist:
1. Central
2. Island
3. EDM
4. EDMn
