Description
In the factory, there is one EDM client SIPLACE Pro application for each production line. Additionally, a
common SIPLACE Pro application is installed as the master for all production lines. This is the EDM sce

nario.
Configuration of the Services
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.SPI service of the global SIPLACE Pro application must be assigned either to the
Enterprise node or to „global/not configured“. It is also possible to configure this service for the site;
however, this is only recommended if there is only one site in the Factory Layout.
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.SPI services of the lines must be assigned to the Production Lines.
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.LineControl services must be assigned to the work cell elements of the Lines.

Production Line
The Production Line object type comprises multiple work cell elements, for example, a work cell
element for the parking place, a work cell element for the picking place, and a work cell element
for the line. The individual stations are usually configured under the work cell element for the
lines. The SIPLACE.Pro.LineControl services must only be assigned to the work cell elements
of the line.

Description
In the factory, there is one EDM Child SIPLACE Pro application per production line. Several SIPLACE
Pro applications are installed as masters for individual production lines. Every area includes one or more
production lines that are assigned to the corresponding EDM master. This is the EDMn scenario.
Configuration of the Services
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.SPI service of the respective SIPLACE Pro master application is determined via
the area, the site, the enterprise node, or via „global/not configured“. Thus, the most flexible groups
are possible.
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.SPI services of the lines must be assigned to the Production Lines.
▪The SIPLACE.Pro.LineControl services must be assigned to the work cell elements of the Lines.
