: Make the plug-in connection of the component sensor cable on the gantry head distributor S-
23 /S-25 HM (see Abb. 2.6.7 -> 1 and 2).
: Run the component sensor cable into a loop and fasten the cable to the spacer bolt with a cable
tie (see Abb. 2.6.7 -> 3 and 4).
The strain on the plug-in connector must be relieved.
2.6.5 Final Steps
: If present, mount the protective covers back on the placement head (5 socket hex head cap
screws M 3).
: Remove all of the tools, etc., from the machine’s working area.
: Hold the placement head by the handle and move it back into the area over the PCB conveyor.
-> While doing so, make certain that it stays at least the minimum distance away from the
X-gantry so that the crash proximity switch is not actuated.
: If present, fold the flap of the head crash protection unit back up.
: Now switch ON the compressed air supply at the main valve of the compressed air unit in the
machine base. Turn the machine ON.
Dock the mobile changeover table(s) so that the allocation is the same as it previously was.
: If present, fold down the head crash protection units.
2.6.6 Installing Software Version 503.xx on Line Computer and Station Computer
The SW V 503.xx is required on the line computer and the station computer in order to operate
the component sensor. 2
To install it, proceed as described in the pertinent software version description for 503.xx. The in-
structions are in the software package 503.xx (Item no.: see Section 1.4.2). 2
NOTE:
It is also possible to install the SW SIPLACE PRO on the line computer (see Section 1.4.2). 2

2.6.7 Activating the Optional Component Sensor and Trial Placement
DANGER
There is a higher risk of accident when working with the SITEST program.
The SITEST program is only to be started by personnel who have been trained in its use at Sie-
mens Dematic AG and are therefore authorized to do so.
The component changeover tables (mobile changeover tables on S-25 HM / HS-50) must ALL be
moved into the machine, properly docked, and completely equipped. 2
NOTE:
The component sensor has a control LED that is visible from the operator’s side (see Abb. 2.6.3)
The display function is as follows:
-LED lit: The Sensor is ready for operation AND the beam of the sensor ist not interrupted.
-LED does not light up: The light beam ist covered (interrupted) >
50 %.
The "Component sensor" button is always active in SITEST, even if the sensor has been deacti-
vated under Hardware Options. 2
: Use the "Manual for the Placement of 0201 Components" (Item no.: see Abschn. 2.5.4) and
perform all of the work steps described there.
In brief:
– Create the prerequisites for placement (0201, 0402,...) at the station.
– Perform all work steps in the SITEST program.
– Perform all works steps at the line computer. These include activating the optional compo-
nent sensor for the assembling gantry and configuring the component sensor.
– Check the function of the component sensor at the station; measure components (0201,
0402,...) with the component sensor and place them.
