As an alternative to folding your bags and securing them with a warning
label, try our ZipTop reclosable bags. We use quality-tested zipper material
and our own custom built machines to make zipper bags that have a
reputation for outstanding reliability. Bags are RoHS Compliant* and

TapeTop Adhesive Closure Bags
3M TapeTop bags offer a self-sealing tape closure that is re-sealable for
multiple uses. The bags are easy to open and do not require a heat sealer
to close. To close the bag, simply peel off the cover strip and fold the flap
closed. Open the bag by lifting the flap. TapeTop closure is available on all

Moisture Barrier Bags
3M is one of the leading manufacturers of moisture bags, offering short
lead times for custom bag sizes to fit your application. Bags are marked
with Moisture and ESD caution information, RoHS compliant symbols,
and are lot coded for traceability. Custom printing is available. Moisture
barrier bags are designed to protect electronic items from moisture,
electrostatic, physical and environmental damage during manufacture,
transportation, and storage. As required in ANSI/ESD S541, and as part
of the ANSI/ESD S20.20 ESD control program, barrier bags provide
protection from static discharge and are low charging.
Types of Barrier Bags
IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 for Devices
Surface mount devices (SMD) are attached to circuit boards by reheating
solder on the pads. This technique, called reflow soldering, heats the
circuit board, device leads and the device case. Moisture trapped inside
the device case can expand at a rate faster than the case, causing the
case to rupture. To prevent this damage, the IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033
standard sets requirements for foil barrier bags, desiccant, humidity
indicator cards, labeling and bag sealing. 3M supplies all of the items
needed for compliance.
MIL-PRF-81705 for Assemblies
Disk drives, bare cards, and other components are subject to corrosion
during storage and shipment. Metallized moisture barrier bags that meet the
barrier limit established in MIL-PRF-81075 can help to prevent this damage.
