3 System Components and Configurations
SIPLACE Explorer can either be installed in SIPLACE LAN or distributed via SIPLACE and client LANs.
Users not wishing to install the complete SIPLACE Explorer program on one computer can distribute the
individual components among several computers. When distributing the individual components, part of
the SIPLACE Explorer application is installed on the line host PC. This contains the components
described below and could be structured as follows: 2
● Various drivers:
Driver usage for devices which are not GEM-capable (SAFI, SIPLACE OIS).
● Server for SIPLACE Explorer Runtime Environment.
● Web server:
For management of Java servlets.
Please note that the web server and the SIPLACE Explorer databases do not need to be installed on the
line host PC.
