Troubleshooting a Jammed Feeder
Due to differences in the size and shape of commercially available bulk chips, there is a slight
possibility that chips may jam the bulk feeder, resulting in unsatisfactory part supply. If the feeder
should become jammed, use one of the procedures below (depending on the nature of the problem) to
solve the problem.
If there are chips on the belt, but none appear at the pickup
position:
This symptom indicates that chips have become jammed under the front belt cover.
1. Manually loosen the bolt (D) that secures the front cover, then pull the bolt
upward to remove front cover.
2. Remove all chips from the belt under the cover, and make sure the channel on the
lower surface of the cover is not soiled or scratched.
3. Reinsert the front belt cover horizontally and secure it, making sure there is no gap
between it and the feeder arm. Also make sure there is no gap between the front
belt cover and the either the guide or the rear belt cover.
4. After reattaching the cover, manually operate the feed lever to confirm that parts
are smoothly supplied as far as the pickup position.
