used on the associated documentation when shipping a unit or units of this model
from Japan to a third country.
Since this equipment contains strategic materials that are covered by international
treaty, it is necessary to obtain government permission to export it from Japan to a
third country.
Abbreviated versions of the official model name may appear in this and other related
documents.
Part names are given in millimeters throughout this document, although the equivalent
name in inches is given in parenthesis for certain components, e.g. 0603 (0201).

1. Introduction
1.1 Outline
The CP-842E and CP-842ME have been developed based on the CP-7-series machines, and
have greatly enhanced functionality and improved accuracy. These machines are highly reliable,
fast and accurate turret-type machines equipped with close-proximity placement capabilities,
enabling placement of ultra-small chips to large parts on high-density PCBs.
1.2 Features
1. By making improvements to the rotary holders, the results of vision processing are fed back
based on Y-axis pick-up data under specific conditions, and offsets are applied to ensure that
the parts are always picked up in the center. This Y-axis direction pick-up compensation
function enables stable pick-up even for ultra-small parts such as 0402s.
2. In order to realize a truly high-accuracy placing machine, not only have the index units been
newly developed, but the addition of a table matrix compensation function used to raise the
table stopping accuracy has led to even further enhancements in the machine accuracy.
3. The previous halogen and UV lamps used for the machine’s light source have been replaced
with LED and LED UV lighting. Not only has this improved the life-cycle of the lighting units
themselves, but it has also resulted in more stable vision processing.
4. Placement of 0402 (01005) chips has been realized simply through the replacement of the
narrow camera lens with a new high-resolution lens, and not through any special
modifications. (Option)
5. A parts monitor enabling the operator to view the results of vision processing in real-time
from the rear of the machine is now equipped as standard.
6. Despite increased sources of machine vibration and noise output due to the addition of new
functions, a thorough review of each unit on the machine has resulted in low vibration and
noise levels similar to those on existing machines.
