2.4.1 Safety instructions for closing the protective covers
CAUTION
Risk of crushing hands, if the protective covers are not closed correctly.
To avoid risk of injury when closing the protective covers on the machine, the operator must
instruct the personnel.
► Follow the instructions below when handling the protective covers.

1 Handle 2 Monitor
► To open or close the protective cover, always take hold of these by the handle (1).
► When closing, do not reach into the gap between the protective cover and the machine panel.
► When closing the protective cover, make sure that the area in which it is swiveled is free of
obstruction and that no other people are at risk of injury.
► Pay attention to the monitor (2) and make sure it is not in the way of the closing door which
could result in irreversible damage.

2.4.2 Insertion of board into the input and output conveyor
WARNING
Risk of injuries to hands when inserting a board into the input conveyor
When manually inserting the board into the input conveyor, hands could be caught by the
gantry and injured due to unprohibited access to the hazard area of the gantry.
The operating company is responsible for ensuring that the input and output conveyors are
covered to prevent anyone reaching into these areas with hands or arms.
All upstream and downstream modules (printer, placement machine, conveyors, etc.) must
take these same precautions.

2.5 Safety features
2.5.1 Protective hood, doors and covers
The travel range is covered with one movable protective hood (1) on the front side. The front pro-
tective hood (1), the front doors (2) and the rear cover (3) serve as protective devices which pre-
vent unauthorized access to the inside of the machine. The accessible front hood (1) and the front
doors (2) are interlocked. The rear cover is secured by allen key screws.
CAUTION
Risk of injury
Do not stand on or otherwise access the protective hoods and covers.
