1.3 Operator levels
Certain functions or menus may only be executed or accessed by specially trained personnel. A
differentiation is made between the following operator levels:
Operator account
Supervisor account
Super User account
ASM Employee account
The operator levels " Operator account " and " Supervisor account)" can be password protected.
The operator level " Super User account " is already password protected.
Operator account
This operator level includes those people who have been trained to operate the machine. These
people are authorized to use any functions associated with operating the machine and may call up
any menus needed to use the machine.
Supervisor account
People with this operator level have completed special training and are authorized to perform setup
tasks e.g. creating recipes.
Super User account
People with this operator level are specially trained technicians at the customer end, who can, for
example, define machine option settings.
ASM Employee account
Special area and functions for ASM software developers.
1.4 Important notes on this Instructor Guide
1.4.1 Contents and filing of this Instructor Guide
This Instructor Guide contains basic information that must be observed when setting up, operating
and maintaining the machine. The service engineers, qualified staff, operators and users plus sys-
tem owner must therefore read it before commencing installation and commissioning. The instruc-
tions must be kept permanently accessible where the machine is used.
In addition, the user must ensure that the employees have fully understood the contents of this In-
structor Guide.
1.4.2 Danger notes
A thorough knowledge of the relevant part of this Instructor Guide is required before carrying
out any work on the machine.
All work must be carried out by appropriately trained and qualified personnel.
All warning, caution and danger notes MUST be observed.
Please also read chapter Operational safety of this Instructor Guide through carefully.
1.4.3 Manufacturer's/supplier's liability
We hereby confirm that the contents of this Instructor Guide are of a descriptive and explanatory
nature only and do not contain any contractual conditions or guarantees. The liability and obliga-

2.1 Conventions for the use of safety instructions
This manual contains notes that must be observed to guarantee your personal safety and to avoid
damage to equipment. These notes are highlighted by warning triangles and are indicated as fol-
lows according to the level of risk:

Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable
damage to property will occur if this hazard warning is not observed.
WARNING
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that fatal or severe injuries or considerable
damage to equipment may occur if these warning instructions are not followed.
CAUTION
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this indicates that minor injuries or damage to property
may occur if this caution is not observed.
NOTICE
Definition
For the purposes of this manual, this note provides information about the product or indic-
ates a part of the manual that requires particular attention.
2.1.1 Qualified personnel
Qualified or adequately trained personnel means that these people are familiar with the setting up,
operation and preventive maintenance of ASM ProcessLens solder paste inspection machine and
add-on devices and are suitably qualified, e.g.
Have been trained, instructed or authorized to switch on and off, isolate, earth and identify
electrical circuits and system components in accordance with normal safety standards.
Have been trained or instructed in the upkeep and use of appropriate safety equipment in
accordance with normal safety standards.
