CHAPTER 15 RAIL SYSTEM MODULE
MODULE OVERVIEW
Purpose The rail system is a programmable width conveyor system which sets the rail
width and transports the board through the machine using belts.
The machine is available with front rail justification only.
Elements The main components of the rail system are as follows:
• Board Transport Belts (2 positions)
• Board Transport Belt Drive Motors (2 positions)
• Moving Rail
• Fixed Rail
• Board at Left and Right Diffuse Optos
• Rail Lift Sensors (2 positions)
• Moving Rail Drive Motor
• Rail Home Through Beam Opto
• Board Clamps
• Board Snuggers (optional)
Operation The rail system transports the board using belts from the upline machine, into
this machine, where the board is positioned, clamped and printed. After printing
the board is transferred using the same belts to the downline machine.
The rail system sets the rail width from the current board product file in the
MMI.
NOTE
Refer to the Camera System Module Chapter of this manual for information on
the board stop mechanism.
Refer to the Rising Table Module Chapter of this manual for information on the
remote board stop mechanism.
