this work by Siemens (section 4).
- Some other electrical interruption -> Notify Siemens SMD Service.
±
PCB is not being sucked against suction cup correctly:
Vacuum plate (top plate of tool) and/or suction cups are not clean / Components may be
lying around -> Perform maintenance (Section 9).
Required vacuum branches are switched off and/or branches which are not necessary are
switched on (depending on the version: see Fig. 3 - 1) -> In instances where manual shut-
off cocks are adapted to PCB length, open/close the appropriate branch -> In instances
where automatic shut-off valves are involved, check the function of the valve and exchange
it if necessary.
Several suction cups are not completely covered -> No air present (see Section 5).
Vacuum branch(es) not sealed -> Tighten screw connections (including those on bottom of
the top plate).
Option placed incorrectly -> PCB against stopper must be drawn against the the suction
cups optimally by vacuum.

Vacuum is not reduced / not reduced in time
Time interval set for “Reduce vacuum” is too short -> Setting to made only by persons who
have been especially trained for this by Siemens (see Section 5).

Resources required:
vacuum cleaner,
clean, lint-free cloth
Vacuum plate (top plate of the tool): Clean/inspect contact surface and suction cups (suc-
tion openings) 9
:
Visually inspect the contact surface prior to starting the placement process.
:
Vacuum off the contact surface and the suction cups/suction openings (as also routine during
maintenance of the component tables).
If necessary, wipe off the surface afterwards with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Checking the silencer
:
Check the silencer for fouling at relatively long periods of time. If necessary, exchange the si-
lencer.
Suction cups
:
Exchange the suction cups of the tool when they become worn.
