6. Precautionary Items for Correct Operations
Requirements for Installation
Be sure to fulfill the following requirements for safety purposes.
Overvoltage Category : Category III
Pollution Degree : 2
Altitude : 1,000 m or less above the sea level
Overvoltage Categories refer to the level of Impulse Withstand Voltage protection
provided at the specified Pollution Degree.
Category III : Primary circuits of a device to which power is directly supplied from the
power distribution panel, and circuits from the distribution panel to outlets.
The term was changed from "Installation Category" to "Overvoltage Category".
"Pollution Degree" is a degree of pollution severity.
Pollution Degree 2 : This equipment is used under the environment where nonconductive
pollution occurs, which may become conductive temporarily due to
occasional condensation.
Altitude means the height above sea level of the place where the machine is to be used.
When the machine is used in a place that has an altitude of 1,000 meters or more, contact
YAMAHA sales representatives.
