THIS MANUAL APPLIES TO
VERSION 07.XX.00.XX
OF THE VITRONICS OVEN CONTROL SOFTWARE
for Windows™
OPERATOR’S MANUAL
READ THIS FIRST !!!!!
The Vitronics Reflow Oven is used in the manufacturing of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
It is an electric high temperature oven capable of temperatures as high as 350° C.
It has several “zones” between the beginning (onload end) to the end (offload end).
Each zone can be set at a different temperature than its neighboring zones.
Usually the last 1, 2, 3, or 4 zones are “Cooling Zones” to help cool the printed circuit
boards after they have been processed. (PCBs coming out of the oven are too hot to
touch with the bare hands !!!)
The ability to select the temperature(s), and select the speed of the conveyor, allows
printed circuit boards to be exposed to varying temperatures as it passes though the oven
on the motorized conveyor.
The overall operation and control of the Reflow Process is a precision procedure requiring
a sophisticated Electrical Control System and Oven Control Program. The Vitronics Oven
Control Program runs on a standard IBM PC computer system which also stores and
displays oven information.
Control and measurement is performed by a controller mounted on the oven electrical
panel. The Vitronics Control Program sends information to the oven mounted controller,
and requests process information back. If communications is interrupted for more than 10
seconds, the oven mounted controller puts the oven into a safe state and the Vitronics
Control Program will display an alarm.
The OPERATOR controls the oven with the computer keyboard and trackball.
Various selections determine the functions to be performed by the Vitronics Oven
Control Program, oven mounted controller, and the oven.
This Manual describes what an OPERATOR needs to know about using the
Vitronics Control Program to successfully operate the Vitronics Reflow Oven.
