Settings
The pressure controller is operated with switches and potentiometers.
Their functions are described in this section.
Selecting Type of Setting (Mode Switch A)
The following parameters are set with mode switch (A):
Measurement of production machine speed
Minimum speed display
Display of minimum and maximum pressure values (in mA) for
proportional valves 1 and 2.
NOTE: All settings are also possible even if the mode switch is not moved.
However, it is advisable to turn the mode switch to the respective position;
otherwise the corresponding value will not appear in the display.

The LA 302 calculates the pressure values on the basis of the production
machine speed. For the display to be correct:
The encoder must be installed (Use suitable gear box)
The maximum speed may not exceed 600 m/min.
Turn the mode switch (A) to the top position to display the production
machine speed.
NOTE: To check, change the production machine speed and observe the
display.
Fig. 4-3
Setting Minimum Speed (Potentiometer E)
Potentiometer (E) is used to set the minimum speed. Pressure is not
controlled below this speed. If pneumatic valves are connected, their
nozzles are not opened below the minimum speed. If the production
machine falls below the speed set on the LA 302, LED (3) lights up.
1. Reduce the production machine speed to the desired lowest speed (but
not < 1 m/min).
2. Set mode switch (A) to Minimum speed.
3. Set the minimum speed with potentiometer (E) on the LA 302.
4. Lock the setting with the fixing device on potentiometer (E).
NOTE: Ensure that the production machine speed is always somewhat
higher than the set minimum speed.

NOTE: It is advisable to make a note of the values to be able to later
replicate production (Refer to Settings Record Form at the end of this
section).

Setting Minimum Pressure (Potentiometer C)
Potentiometer (C) is used to set the minimum pressure for proportional
pressure control valve 1. The minimum pressure is the pressure required for
the glue bead to be even and cohesive at the lowest possible production
machine speed.
1. Slow down the production speed to the desired minimum speed (but not
< 1 m/min).
2. Set mode switch (A) to Pressure display.
3. Set the current for proportional pressure control valve 1 with
potentiometer (C) such that the desired bead quality is achieved.
4. Lock the setting with the fixing device on potentiometer (C).
NOTE: Potentiometer (F) is used to set the minimum pressure for
proportional pressure control valve 2. Do this by moving mode switch (A) to
the bottom setting.

NOTE: It is advisable to make a note of the values to be able to later
replicate production (Refer to Settings Record Form at the end of this
section).
Setting Maximum Pressure (Potentiometer D)
Potentiometer (D) is used to set the maximum pressure for proportional
pressure control valve 1. The maximum pressure is the pressure required
for the glue bead to be even and cohesive at the greatest possible
production machine speed.
1. Increase the production machine speed to the desired maximum speed
(but not > 600 m/min).
2. Set mode switch (A) to Pressure display.
3. Set the current for proportional pressure control valve 1 with
potentiometer (D) such that the desired bead quality is achieved.
4. Lock the setting with the fixing device on potentiometer (D).
NOTE: Potentiometer (G) is used to set the maximum pressure for
proportional pressure control valve 2. Do this by moving mode switch (A) to
the bottom setting.

replicate production (Refer to Settings Record Form at the end of this
section).
