■ Nozzle Holder
● Checking the nozzle holder escape
After grease is applied to the nozzle’s outer surface, attach the nozzle to the head and check the condition of
the nozzle holder escape.
NOTE: When the nozzle is placed in the head (nozzle holder), it can slide a few millimeters vertically. This nozzle
sliding movement is called nozzle holder escape.
ACTION:
① Attach the nozzle to the head.
② Push the nozzle gently with fingers up to the top dead center of the nozzle holder escape.
③ Release fingers gently and check that the nozzle returns to the lower dead center smoothly.
NOTE: If the nozzle holder escape is not smooth, there may be problems with component suction and placement. If
the nozzle gets caught or does not move smoothly, check the nozzle holder and nozzle’s inner/outer
surfaces for collection of foreign matter or scratches.
● Inspection interval
Approx. once a week

● Cleaning Nozzle holder
A roller and leaf springs that hold the nozzle may not perform smoothly due to the entry of dust and dirt,
which will cause a nozzle dropping. Make a periodic check of the nozzle escape. If any *abnormal
conditions are seen, clean the nozzle holder. (*The nozzle stays up and does not go back to its initial
position, or the nozzle drops easily etc.)
NOTE: Please handle the roller and leaf springs inside the nozzle holder carefully, since they tend to get lost. It is
recommended to keep these spare parts handy before starting replacement.

ACTION:
① Unscrew the two screws with a Phillips screwdriver to take the roller and leaf springs off.
② Remove dust and dirt around the area where the roller touches, the roller and leaf springs.
Check to see that there is no flaw in them. (Replace the part with a new one if there is a flaw)
③ Apply the proper amount of Silicone Grease to the roller and the area where it touches.
Put them back in reverse order of removal.
● Cleaning interval
Clean nozzle holders once or twice a month. In case of unusual conditions are seen when checking
nozzle-holder escaping, clean nozzle holders.
NOTE: A life of the leaf spring is approximately five hundred thousand nozzle changes. It should be replaced
periodically. The recommended period is one year.

■ Application of grease on a Nozzle Holder
ACTION:
① Rub the inside of the Nozzle Holder with materials like a dry cotton swab to clean out the grime, such
as old grease.
② Use the head vacuum breaker to blow out the dust, such as fibers from a cotton swab.
NOTE: The head vacuum breaker can be executed by clicking the button at required head on the window of Main
Menu > Manual Menu > Actuator > On/Off > Head Vacuum.
③ Apply silicon grease evenly on the new cotton swab and rub the inside of the Nozzle Holder softly and
evenly with it.
④ After grease is applied, insert a nozzle and confirm that the nozzle escaping works smoothly.
● Replacing seals of nozzle holders
Seals are attached on bottoms of nozzle holders to prevent from being recognized as nozzles when “Scan
Nozzles” is performed.
Long-term production doing nozzle exchange may cause seal damage such as scratches and wear.
Damaged seals may cause light reflection which occurs vision recognition errors. In this case replace
damaged seals with new ones.
