CAUTION O
Make certain that the main cable harness inside the machine base is correctly fastened and that no cables are
pinched during the following installation of the control unit.
Re-install control unit Y0900.
1.6.4 Final Steps
Hook the empty-tape slide back in.
DANGER O O O
A 2nd strong person must always be available for the installation of the component table and the cutter.
There is a greater risk of an accident due to the blades of the cutter (see DANGER text in
Section 1.2).
Install the old cutter or the pneumatic cutter and the empty-tape duct:
Do so exactly as described in the pertinent SIPLACE service manual under Cutter ...(see also Sec-
tion 1.4, under "Documentation").
With the aid of a 2nd strong person, assemble the right-hand component table or move the changeover
table into the machine.
Set up the component table as dictated by "set-up".
If there is a wafflepack changer present, move it back into the machine.
Remove all of the parts and tools in the machine.
Reconnect the interface cable and the supply to the wafflepack changer and the component table.
-> To do so, the machine has to be turned
off at the main switch.
-> Always reconnect
the connector for power supply first and then, but only then, the interface
connector at the machine base.
Make certain that the warning signs described in Section 1.2 dare on the coplanarity sensor.
Lay the metal dust cover over the conveyor trench (contact surfaces: see Fig. 1.6.1 -> 11) and screw the
dust cover to the machine base at the conveyor baseplate (three/four washers A4,3 and M 4 x 8 socket-
head cap screws, see Fig. 1.6.1 -> 11).
If the old model of the option was previously installed, remove the laser warning signs on the machines
sliding safety hood which no long apply.
These are signs such as Caution: Invisible Laser Radiation and any Technical Data which refer to the
earlier coplanarity laser module (with data as to wave length and performance, etc.).
According to standard, a laser class 1 device
requires no warning on the machine/safety hoods.
The pertinent warnings in the Operating Manual are sufficient.
If the customer insists, however, the laser warning
triangle may be left on the machine.

1.7 Checking the Safety Circuit
DANGER O O O
As with all the retrofitting, the following jobs are to be performed only by the Siemens service engineer.
This also applies for the first time the machine with this option is turned on.
Before you turn the machine on, remove all loose parts and tools from the machine.
The laser shutoff is only to be checked
indirectly , i.e., with the help of the test connector.
To check the sensor cable it is to disconnected directly at the coplanarity processing unit and the test connec-
tor is to connect on in the processing unit. The laser itself (coplanarity sensor) is therefore
not running during
this check.
The laser
shutoff must be checked during all subsequently named interruptions in protection, once with the
key-operated switch locked ("0") and once with the key-operated switch in the service position ("I").
1.7.1 Interruptions in Protection which must be Checked
Perform the following checks as described in detail under Steps in the Check in Section 1.7.2:
- Open and close each of the 4 protective covers/hoods:
Input, output, protectve hoods (left and right).
- Actuate and release each of the 3 EMERGENCY OFF buttons: input, output and WPC
- Electrically isolate and connect the 2 component tables from/to the machine.
Sequence while pulling the plug-in connectors -> see WARNING below.
1.7.2 Steps in the Check
The following steps are identical with V 403.04 and V404.01:
The machine must be turned off.
Make certain that the key-operated switch is locked.
Unplug the "sensor cable coplanarity " from the assembly (see Fig. 1.5.6).
Plug the coplanarity test connectorWRWKHcoplanarity processing unit onto the connector previously
removed (connector configuration and LED allocation: see Fig. 1.5.4).
Close all of protective devices.
Turn the machine ON. The control remains OFF:
- None of the 4 LEDs on the connected test connector is to light up.

NOTE
The LEDs on the coplanarity processing unit (in the control unit) are
not activated in the identical manner as
the LEDs on the test connector. Therefore the activation and deactivation of LEDs
must always be con-
firmed at the test connector. The coplanarity sensor is turned back off 20 minutes after the last activation.
Therefore the checks must be performed within this period of time.
CAUTION O
In this case, the calibration procedure subsequently started via SITEST is merely used to turn on the sensor,
i.e., it is NOT to be STORED.
Load the SITEST program and select:
"Calibrate" -> "Coplanarity" menu -> "Calibrate module" menu.
Turn the control ON (Start button).
The machine will perform a reference run.
All 4 LEDs on the test connector must light up.
Now open and close all 4 protective covers one after the other, checking whether the LEDs on the test
connector are activated:
After one protective cover is opened -> None of the 4 LEDs is to light up.
After the individual protective cover or all protective covers is/are closed and the ON button is acti-
vated ->
all 4 LEDs must light up.
Press and release all 3 EMERGENCY OFF buttons one after the other, checking whether the LEDs on
the test connector are activated:
After one EMERGENCY OFF button is activated -> None of the 4 LEDs is to light up.
After the EMERGENCY OFF button is released and control ON is activated -> all 4 LEDs must
light up.
WARNING O O
Always unplug
the round connector first (power supply) of the component changeover table and/or of the
WPC
and then, but only then, the square one (interface connector). During reassembly, plug them back in
in the reverse order. When the machine is turned 21 as in this case - you must ZDLWXQWLOWKH9 control
LED on the component table termination panel goes RII before unplugging the interface connector.
Unplug the round connector and then the square one on the right-hand component table.
After the (square) interface connector is pulled out -> none of the 4 LEDs is to light up.
After the connectors are plugged in (in reverse order) and control is ON.
->
All 4 LEDs must light up.
Follow the same procedure for the component table on the left-hand side of the machine.
Turn key operating switch to Position "I" (service position) and repeat the procedure described above.
Afterwards, lock the key-operated switch ("position "0").
