3.7.2 X-Series Placement Machines
► Install the 709.0 station software, see chapter 5.
► If necessary, install the Coplan computer or feeder computer software, see chapter 6.
► Shut down the machine.
► Remove the tables.
► Switch on the machine again and perform the eSW download.
► Reboot the machine.
► Place the tables. The eSW download for the feeders starts automatically.
► Save the calibration data for the placement heads in the EEPROM (see section 7.11).
► Perform a component sensor calibration if a CPP placement head is used for 0201/01005
placement.
► Perform the closed vacuum calibration if Twin Heads are used.
► Start the production.
3.8 Upgrading from 701.xx Software Versions (X4I Placement
Machine)
► If necessary, perform an upgrade to the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7,
32-bit or 64-bit) operating system. See sections 4.1.1 and 5.3.1.
► Download the SIPLACE_UpgradePreparation.exe file (directory Upgrade_Preparation) from the
installation CD and execute the file.
► Reboot the machine and perform an eSW download for the placement heads.
► Install the 709.0 station software, see chapter 5.
► If necessary, install the Coplan computer or feeder computer software, see chapter 6.
► Shut down the machine.
► Remove the tables.
► Switch on the machine again and perform the eSW download.
► Reboot the machine.
► Place the tables.
The eSW download for the feeders starts automatically.
► Save the calibration data for the placement heads in the EEPROM (see section 7.11).
► Perform a component sensor calibration if a CPP placement head is used for 0201/01005
placement.

► Calibrate the nozzle changer.
► Calibrate the conveyor.
► Start the production.

3.9 Upgrading from 60x Software Versions (X-Series Placement
Machines)
► Please contact the SIPLACE Service before upgrading from the 60x software version to 709.x.
The staff will advise you on the required modules and necessary steps.

4 Requirements
4.1 Software Components of SIPLACE Series X, X S, SX, DX, CA and
TX
4.1.1 Station
The station only uses one of the following operating system configurations on the machine
computer and Coplan computer/feeder computer:
– Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7, 32-bit or 64-bit)
The station computer has to be equipped with at least 2 GB memory with WES 7, 32-bit and 4 GB
memory with WES7, 64-bit respectively. If necessary, station computers in the field have to be
exchanged or upgraded with a memory extension. Please refer to the Technical Information
TI2014-09E04.
4.1.2 Machine Components
The following versions of other machine components are required for the station software to
function correctly:
SIPLACE station software SIPLACE Vision SIPLACE Pro
Version 709.0 Version 531 Version 13.0
CAUTION
The functional statuses of the station computer, Vision computer and SIPLACE Pro
software must be compatible, as specified above. Another configuration is not supported.
