1.2 System Requirements

The Support Media DVD included in the installation package checks the necessary system re-

quirements of your system and installs these. Amongst others e.g. Microsoft .NET Framework,

the License Manager and the Error Reporting tool. 1

The use of the Support Media V1.13 is obligatory. 1

The system requirements (supported operating systems and database variants) and an overview

of the interoperable products can be found in the SIPLACE Support Media Installation Manual,

item no. [00197214-xx]. 1

SIPLACE Explorer V2.10 provides various installation variants for the different components: 1

– Factory Layout Central Installation (CI)

– Factory Layout Distributed Installation (DI)

– Single Line Layout

We recommend that you use one of these installation variants for your system. For a detailed de-

scription, please see Section “Standard Installation of SIPLACE Explorer” on page 17. 1

1.2.1 SIPLACE Explorer Server

– Java Runtime Environment 1.6,

included on the Support Media DVD

– Apache Tomcat v.5.5.x web server,

included on the Support Media DVD

– MS XML Core Services 6.0,

included on the Support Media DVD

– MS Excel Viewer - one of the following versions:

– MS Excel Viewer 2003 with MS Office Compatibility Pack

– MS Excel Viewer 2007, included on the Support Media DVD

If MS Excel 2003 or MS Excel Viewer 2003 is installed, the "Microsoft Office Compatibility

Pack" must be installed manually. This pack is contained on the Support Media DVD under

"\Tools\Office Compatibility Pack". 1
