1.1.2 Checking the nozzle leaf springs
If nozzle leaf springs cannot hold a nozzle securely, this adversely affects pickup, recognition and mounting
operations. Periodically check the leaf springs for nozzle holding status.
n
Nozzle leaf spring inspection points
Check the following points by removing the nozzle and reattaching it to the nozzle holder.
• The nozzle leaf spring has enough gripping force.
• There is no gap between the leaf springs and the nozzle.
• The nozzle leaf spring is not deformed.
• The nozzle detaching/attaching part of the leaf spring is not worn out.
• Mounting screw should be tightened.
Checking the leaf spring condition
Screw should
be tightened.
Leaf spring should not be
warped or deformed.
There should be
no gap.
Leaf spring should
not be frayed.

n
NOTE
IIf any problem is found during the check work shown above, replace the leaf springs referring to chapter 4, "2.
Replacing nozzle leaf springs".
As a rule, be sure to replace a pair of parts even when only the leaf spring on one side deteriorates.
n
NOTE
Return the nozzles to the head where the nozzles were removed.
If removed nozzles from the nozzle station, return them to the nozzle storage positions.

1.1.3 Cleaning the nozzle tip
A little dirt at the nozzle tip can be cleaned with the "Nozzle tip cleaning tape" that comes with the machine.
If cleaning the nozzle with an ultrasonic cleaner (option) and then cleaning with the nozzle tip cleaning tape,
the nozzle tip can be cleaned effectively.
The following describes the cleaning procedure of the spring-action nozzle tip with an ultrasonic cleaner and
the nozzle tip cleaning tape.
c
CAUTION
When cleaning the nozzle tip, use YAMAHA recommended cleaning tape (TAPE,CLEANER:KGT-M8895-00X) only. If
using other tape, the adhesive surface may adhere to the nozzle and may cause the mounting failure.
n
NOTE
See the Service Information that comes with the tape for how to use the cleaning tape.

n
NOTE
When cleaning a nozzle with an O-ring such as Type
304A or Type 307A nozzle using an ultrasonic cleaner,
remove an O-ring and clean a nozzle itself only.
4
Blow nozzles.
1.
