–SW 407
–SW 408
– SW 101 for the CS and CF machine
The following version is supported but if problems should occur, you will need to update it to the
version shown above. 1
– SW 503.04 SP 2: This version is only suitable if an update to SW 505.xx is not possible due to
hardware restrictions.
1.3 Additional Remarks
SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.4 has the following restrictions: 1
– Restriction due to NPI mode
SIPLACE Explorer V2.4 is unable to use data from SIS for boards which are marked as "SA"
(stand-alone). This means that the following information is not available for boards marked with
"SA":
– Component name
– Component shape
– Feeder type
The following SMA pages show limited data due to the "Stand-alone" mode: 1
– Pickup Reliability
– Pickup Summary
– Reject Rate
– Transition Log
– Factory Layout:
A SIPLACE Explorer host (the computer on which SIPLACE Explorer "Runtime Environment"
is installed) can monitor five production lines with up to 20 stations.
– Single Line Layout
A SIPLACE Explorer host (the computer on which SIPLACE Explorer "Runtime Environment"
is installed) can monitor one production line with up to 7 stations.
– For performance reasons, we recommend that you do not generate reports for all websites and
report types at once. Try to run the report generation at a time when there is no production op-
eration e.g. at the weekend.

– From SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.0 SP1, the station GEM interface will no longer be sup-
ported i.e. data can not be recorded via the GEM interface with SIPLACE Explorer Version 2.2
or higher. If you need support for the GEM interface, please contact the SIPLACE Hotline.
– The system time on the connected machines and that belonging to the SIPLACE Explorer must
be synchronized. SIPLACE machines require the installation of TimeSync, which is included
on the Support Media DVD provided with the delivery.
– There is a special OIS status module realized in SIPLACE OIS. This OIS status module is
shown in the SIPLACE Explorer status module which matches the SEMI E10 status module.
This may lead to deviations in the states and status times shown between OIS and SIPLACE
Explorer. A direct comparison is therefore not possible.
– The following restriction applies to platform I (S20, S23, F4, F5, F5HM) stations with dual con-
veyors:
The page Production Summary will display Unknown in the Current Recipe List table for
the 2nd conveyor lane. 1
Reason:
Platform I stations are unable to produce different recipes, even with dual conveyors. There-
fore, only one recipe will be loaded for the SIPLACE line. This recipe will then only be assigned
to conveyor lane I by SIPLACE Explorer. 1
– When using the conveyor type "dual conveyor", the board counting function is subject to limi-
tations. It only records boards for conveyor lane 1. Boards produced on conveyor lane 2 are
not recorded. SIPLACE Explorer and OIS only show the boards for conveyor lane 1. The com-
ponents placed on the boards on conveyor lane 2 are assigned to the boards recorded for lane
1. This means that the number of consumed components shown is correct. This restriction ap-
plies to the following software versions: 407, 408, 502, 503, 504, 505.01, 505.02. The restric-
tion ceases to apply for version 505.03 onwards.
– If partially placed boards are removed from the SIPLACE machine, without specifying this ter-
mination in the station software and removing them via the output conveyor, these boards will
not be recorded by the OIS and SIPLACE Explorer systems. In this case, the station software
is not able to generate the data set needed to record the boards. This restriction applies to all
available versions of the station software. If you need to terminate board placement, always
proceed as follows:
– Terminate the board at the station software interface.
– Remove the board from the output conveyor of the station and not by opening the hood and
taking it directly out of the placement area.
– The following restrictions apply to the SMA pages listed below, if no boards are placed at the
last station in the production line:

– The page Production Summary will not update the values in the column Lot Progress of
the table Lot Progress, if the last station in the production line does not have any place-
ment contents for the recipe currently defined. In this case, the last station will conveyor the
boards through without placement. The column Lot Progress will continue to show the
name of the last recipe which had placement contents at the last station.
– Machine Navigator:
OLE value will not be shown (N/A).
– Overview of OLE / OEE:
Overall Line Efficiency diagram: Values for OLE, performance and availability will not be
shown correctly.
Overall Equipment Efficiency by Station diagram: station data is not shown correctly for
stations which do not place boards.
– OEE Analysis:
Table: values for performance and availability will not be shown correctly for lines and sta-
tions which do not place boards.
Overall Equipment Efficiency diagram – comparison diagram: Values for OLE, performance
and availability will not be shown correctly for the line.
– Factory Overview
The following values will not be shown correctly or will not be updated:
OLE, Current Recipe/ Job, Last Recipe Change, Completed, Lot Progress, Average Takt
Time.
– When using MS Windows 2003 Server, the web server (Tomcat) must be configured accord-
ingly. For further details about the configuration process, refer to “Using Windows 2003 Server”
on page 46.
– When using SIPLACE Explorer with MS Windows Vista, Tomcat 5.5 may not be installed on
the C system drive, otherwise report generation and report display in MS Excel will not work
properly.
– When using SIPLACE Explorer with MS Windows Vista, a workaround is needed for report
generation and report display in MS Excel. For further details about the configuration process,
refer to “Using Windows Vista” on page 43.
– The name of the computer on which Tomcat is installed may not include special characters, in
particular no underscore (_). If the name does include these characters, it will not be possible
to display the website. For further details about this restriction, see "http://support.mi-
crosoft.com/kb/275033".
