The MTC can only be retrofitted on S-25 HM.
Under some conditions, the MCT is retrofitted during the course of upgrading the S-23 HM (plat-
form 1) to S-25 HM (platform 2). For the upgrade, use the separate retrofitting instructions, Item
no. 00192377-01.
Then follow the procedure for retrofitting the MTC, as described in this manual.
Due to the upgrading, the precondition software version 502.xx already exist.
For operation with 110V~ (USA) you will have to retrofit the option "110V~ voltage module MTC".
Do this before you move the MTC into the machine for the first time, as described in the Retrofit-
ting Instructions (Item-No. 00193119-01, G + E), contained at the retrofit kit "110V ~ voltage mod-
ule".
For Japan you will need the option "External power supply MTC" (Item no.: see Section 2.5).

– Disconnect the component changeover table -> Machine OFF -> Bleed needle valve on com-
pressed air unit.
– For the USA: Installation of the 110V~ voltage module on the MTC and adjustment of the trans-
former component table MTC to the 208 V~ input voltage.
– Remove the carrier for the nozzle changer, including the empty-tape duct and nozzle changer.
– Remove the holddown at left and the "Rail, component table" (right) => Complete and install
the new "Rail, component table" and - while moving into the component changeover table - ad-
just the rail. Re-install the slide rail (black plastic component).
– Install and align new holder for nozzle changer MTC -> Install new dust cover and clamping
sheet metal on left and right.
– Install new holder for empty-tape duct and new, short empty-tape duct.

– Mount track scale (starting at track 67) on the new empty-tape duct.
– Remove LH safety doors -> Modify RH safety door.
– Adjust height of MTC -> Carefully move MTC in for the first time.
– Align MTC by means of an adjustment gauge (fisheye), to be inserted into conveyor area 2.
– Assemble the machine, installing the new component reject box (MTC/component table) in the
process.
– Configure and measure nozzle changer -> Measure MTC; set up nozzle changer and MTC.

DANGER
The Safety instructions in chapter "Operational Safety" in the User Manual SIPLACE S-25 HM
take precedence.
Improperly handling the MTC fosters a risk of serious injury.
In addition take note of ALL "Safety instructions" in the "User Manual MTC" (Item no.
00192317-01).
The machines SIPLACE S-25 HM are powered by
120V / 208V +/- 5% (US version) or 3 x 230V/400V +/-5%, 50/ 60 Hz line voltage.
Portions of the system are therefore conducting dangerous electricity, inside the machine and in-
side the MTC, even while the master switch is turned off.
After you have properly carried out the shut-down of the Windows operating system NT:
BEFORE all work of retrofitting the machine must be turned OFF at the main switch and isolated
from the mains.
In addition, the compressed air supply must be turned off at the main valve of the compressed air
unit in the machine base and the compressed air lines must be bled by actuating the needle valve
at the compressed air unit (particularly due to the risk of injury - posed by residual air - at the pneu-
matic cutter after undocking/removing the component changeover table).
Obey the applicable accident prevention regulations, DIN standards and special safety codes of
your country at all times. DIN EN 60204 must be adhered to during all work inside the machine
base.
Follow the instructions regarding residual voltages in Chapter "Operational Safety".
Comply with regulations on ESDs (see Chapter "Operational Safety")
While retrofitting you are working in the gantry positioning range.
During the whole process secure the machine conscientiously against other personnel and pre-
vent it from being turned back on without authorization, as described in the User Manual in the
chapter "Locking the Machine...".
In additional, there is a higher risk of accident when working with the SITEST program.
The SITEST program is only to be started by personnel who are authorized to do so.
For the work with the SITEST program the component changeover table and the MTC (incl. com-
ponent table) must be moved in and correctly connected.
