7 Preventive Maintenance
To ensure that your ASM ProcessLens Dual-lane is always in perfect condition for use in your pro-
duction environment, the machine should be maintained on a regular basis. Workflows have been
defined for each maintenance interval. These combine the individual steps to form an efficient se-
quences of tasks in order to optimize the "Uptime" for each maintenance task.
ASM ProcessLens Dual-lane maintenance documentation
The ASM ProcessLens Dual-lane maintenance documentation contains recommendations for the
maintenance tasks to be performed at each maintenance interval. All maintenance tasks are ex-
plained in detail and illustrated in the following Job Cards for ASM ProcessLens:
Job Card ProcessLens Workflow 1 [Item No.: 00900059-xx]
Job Card ProcessLens Workflow 2 [Item No.: 00900060-xx]
Job Card ProcessLens Workflow 3 [Item No.: 00900061-xx]
Job Card ProcessLens Workflow 4 [Item No.: 00900062-xx]
Maintenance workflows
We differentiate between four workflows which are to be performed independently of one another
per maintenance interval.
Workflow 1
Weekly maintenance tasks.
Workflow 2
Combination of weekly and 3-monthly maintenance tasks.
Workflow 3
Combination of weekly and 6-monthly maintenance tasks.
Workflow 4
Combination of weekly and 12-monthly maintenance tasks.
Planning workflows
Each workflow is supported with a document (job card), which guides you efficiently through the
maintenance work.
Example for the frequency of individual workflows over a period of one year:
Workflow 1
45 times / year
Workflow 2
4 times / year
Workflow 3
2 times / year
Workflow 4
1 time / year

7.1 Safety instructions
WARNING
Risk of burns
When performing cleaning tasks using flammable fluids (e.g. alcohol), never use a na-
ked flame or open light sources.
Never spray lubricants or cleaning agents in spray cans in the vicinity of open light
sources or naked flames.
Never spray lubricants anywhere near the optical head as major damage can occur to
the measurement system.
WARNING
SIPLACE cleansing tissue
The SIPLACE cleansing tissue is harmful to your health if swallowed and could cause dam-
age to your lungs.
Do not breathe in the aerosol/mist.
Avoid contact with the skin. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice
immediately and show the packaging or label to the doctor.
Wear latex gloves when using the cleansing tissue.
CAUTION
Non observance of the safety instructions poses a risk of personal injury and dam-
age to the machine!
Observe the safety instructions in chapter 2 "Safety" [}13]of this Instructor Guide
when performing any work.
CAUTION
Consumables
Observe the safety datasheets for the consumables!
CAUTION
Cleaning and lubrication
Do not use any solvents for cleaning, use only ethanol!
Alternatively, you can also use isopropanol – IPA.
It is prohibited to clean with compressed air inside the machine or module assemblies.
CAUTION
Only one person is permitted to be present at any one time for each component sup-
ply place.
The reason for this is to ensure the safety of the operating personnel or of a second person.
The two-hand operation of the component trolley insert only enables one person to be reli-
ably protected from danger.
7.1.1 Safety instructions for hazardous substances
CAUTION
Observe the safety data sheets
When handling hazardous substances, (e.g. Loctite 241, ethanol) observe the applic-
able safety data sheet.
