Controlled board transfer between placement machines
Only lines operated with station software versions >=704 are supported and the placement
machines have to be placed directly in a row.
No data exchange possible between placement machines that are operated in mixed lines with
station software versions >=704 and 60x or with station software versions >=704 and older 70x
versions.
Stop positions for fixed conveyor rail conveyor configurations
Quad Lane conveyor is not supported for SX1/2, DX1/DX2 and DX4.
Dual lane conveyor is not supported for DX1/DX2 and DX4.
Single lane conveyor is not supported for SX4.
Component counter redundant storage
If more than one of the three components GCU, I/O unit and station computer are exchanged, a
correct counter status cannot be ensured after the exchange.
Detection of component missing at nozzle
Lost components that are lower than the configured minimum height (< 5mm) are not detected.
PCB barcode recognition with PCB camera
The board barcode is limited to 40 characters.
When using multiple measurements, the shading effect is clearly visible in the composite
camera image, i.e. the single images are a bit darker in the edges.
Coplanarity module with 3D coplanarity sensor
The coplanarity module only works in conjunction with the stationary component camera type
33 (standard component camera for Twin Head, optional component camera for CPP
placement head).
The coplanarity module can only be configured on location 3 of a SIPLACE X2, X3 and X4 and
on location 1 of a SIPLACE SX1/SX2.
The optional Vision computer (SIMATIC Box PC 627 or PC 627B) is required to operate the
coplanarity module with the 3D coplanarity sensor.
The 3D coplanarity sensor is not supported for he CPP placement head on the X-series
placement machines.
The 3D coplanarity sensor is not supported on the SX4 placement machine.
The 3D coplanarity sensor can only be operated from the gantry where it is installed.
The 3D coplanarity sensor gets installed on the mounting position of the FC camera, i.e. a
gantry may either have an FC camera or a 3D coplanarity sensor.
Of the component types with leads, only those with the lead type "Gullwing" or "Ball" can be
measured. The Gullwing leads must not have any notches.
The component to be measured must have at least five connections.
The maximum height for components to be measured is 17 mm.
High-reflection leads can impact negatively on measurement.
Components which have both balls and leads cannot be measured.
Coplanarity measurement impairs placement performance.

Long Board Option on DX4
The long boards must not be placed between two machines, i.e. the board is not unloaded from
the preceding machine until it can be completely loaded into the downstream machine.
No board is buffered in the intermediate section.
C&P12 placement head
Not supported on the DX4, SX4 and X-series placement machines.
The component sensor is not supported.
No validated procedure for placement with 0201 or 01005 components.
No temperature compensation.
Placement machines on platform PII+ with C&P12 placement heads cannot be upgraded.
Placement machines with A364 and C&P12 configurations are not supported.
The fast head exchange feature is not supported.
Alternative components
The placement of alternative components is only possible in combination with SIPLACE Setup
Center.
LED placement, "Empty feeder" function
A valid SIPLACE Pro job containing the feeder and the nozzle configuration has to be specified
in order to empty the feeder.
Generally, a batch change does not require another nozzle, as only the illumination class
changes but not the component geometry. If the product is changed and another LED is
required (geometrical shape) the feeder has to be changed, too (different geometry of the feed
track).
If the function is used, the feeder filling level is not consistent anymore. Subsequently, the filling
level has to be manually adjusted over a new packaging unit to continue placing.
Components that are rejected during production (Vision errors, cleaning cycle etc.) are not
rejected into the additional reject bin on the component table, but into the “general” reject bin.
Teaching of placement positions during placement
Viewing the whole line, it is not possible to teach all placement positions of a board on a single
placement machine. Only the placement positions that in fact are placed on a station are listed
for selection. I.e., in order to correct all placement positions, the board has to be moved
through the whole line.
No integrity check is performed at the station after the teaching action. As the station restores
to SIPLACE Pro and a download subsequently takes place to the other placement machines,
an integrity check is performed by SIPLACE Pro. This might fail, if it is impossible to go to the
resulting placement positions.

Brightness calibration of digital camera systems
Only conveyor lane 1 is used for the FCCS calibration.
No teaching of fiducial positions or structures on the calibrating jigs.
No machine stop at "track empty" errors in I-placement mode
If the Machine stop at pickup error option is deactivated, no machine stop errors caused by
pickup errors are transmitted to OIS and Explorer. In this case, the reporting of idle times
caused by pickup errors is not possible anymore.
If the placement machine does not stop it may happen that it in fact does not place anymore (it
waits for he feeders to be filled) but is not stopped either (e.g. boards might still be loaded).
This state is then displayed as "Producing" and not as stopped in OIS.
Adjustable minimum track width
The feature is only supported on the SX-series and DX-series placement machines.
In the Quad Lane conveyor mode there is only one adjustable value for each track pair.
Random setup for tray feeders
The feature only works in combination with SIPLACE Setup Center.
Automatic pin positioning with Smart Pin Support
The number of the support pins must not be greater than the number of pin garages.
No collision check in case of manual configurations on the Machine service and SIPLACE
service activity levels.
Support pins cannot be placed before all boards in the processing area have been produced
and unloaded from the machine. Loaded boards are blocked in the input section.
In case of barcode mode together with support pin positioning, a barcode change results in a
long changeover time, as the support pin positioning does not start until all boards have been
unloaded (except for the boards in the input section).
If Smart Pin Support is used on the X3 S, X4 S and X4i S placement machines the traveling
range is additionally limited.wird der Verfahrbereich zusätzlich eingeschränkt.
If a pin picker is installed on the X3 S, X4 S and X4i S placement machine, the maximum board
length is 410mm.
Smart Pin Support is not supported on the X2 S placement machine.
SIPLACE GlueFeeder feeder type
The following parameters can be set in SIPLACE Pro only:
Positions of the glue dots on the component
Glue dot diameter
Forced and unforced setup verfication are not supported.
